Boiled eggs are tricky to cook. You have to time them just right. That’s hard because it’s not as if you can peek inside the shell and check on them. There must be an easier way to boil an egg. If only it involved disco. There is – and it does.

PiepEgg will cook eggs right every time as it sings different songs depending on how done you want your egg. If you want it soft boiled, it will play “Celebration”, medium will get you “That’s the Way(I like it)”, and hard-boiled eggs will play “Last Night A DJ Saved My Life.”

The battery is good for two years, so you should cook many eggs with it until you get sick of disco. It sells for about $25(USD) over at design3000.

They say that truth is stranger than fiction. I say that when it comes to eggs, fictional eggs are overall much much freakier. I mean, are there any real eggs that spawn facehuggers? But as these pictures will show you, real eggs can be really weird too. Insects reprazent!

Let’s start off with something spooky. Those are some spooky eggs, from the Spooky Insect. Okay I don’t know what insect comes out of those eggs. Which adds to the mystery, don’t you think?

It’s easy to see how mystery eggs number 2 may freak the hell out of other insects and animals. They look like tiny webcams.

That’s a Papaya fruit fly, depositing its “milky, white eggs” into a fruit. Good thing I don’t eat papayas.

These Spined Soldier Bug eggs look like something out of a Contra or Metroid game. As you may have guessed, their shiny, spiny shells deter would-be predators from munching on them. The shells stiffen as time goes by, further protecting the critters inside.
