When I was a kid, I watched Sesame Street a lot, as most kids did. Elmo wasn’t on the show back then, but the little red guy is so popular now, he has all sorts of toys and got to stand closer to Katy Perry’s massive and fantastic vocal cords than I ever will.

Elmo has popped up in another toy sure to irritate parents called Let’s Rock Elmo. Elmo has gone a bit Emo with a black shirt and he has six songs for kids to play. The toy sings with two new tracks and has three instruments.

The toy has tech inside that will recognize what instrument Elmo has, and the kids can play along on the other instruments. The included instruments are a mic, drums, and a tambourine. Other instruments can be purchased separately like a guitar, keyboard, and another mic. The toy will retail for $69.99 (USD) and the other instruments are $14.99 to $19.99.

What can I say? I don’t think I’d ever use Sesame Street iDevice gear, but I can imagine quite a few adults who will use this because it’s cute and it reminds them of their childhood.

There are a number of cases and covers available in the collection. There’s also some travel headphones, which are quite colorful. Kids will probably love them. The cases include plush cases and skins for your iPods and iPhones. The case for the iPad is rubberized so that should help protect it.

I’ve seen a lot of kids use Apple devices. The touch-based and motion-based games are definitely an easy way to keep your young kids occupied. At least this way, maybe your iGadgets will be protected from their little kid exploits. Check out Dreamgear for more details.

If you’re looking for the ultimate gag gift for the home theater buff in your life, you’ve gotta check this remote control out. This new universal remote control is guaranteed to make ‘em cringe.

The $15 remote control features the likeness of Sesame Street’s most annoying character of all time, Elmo. It’s got big soft candy-like buttons and is shaped like Elmo holding a big pink or orange heart. I can only pray that it doesn’t make any of those wretch-inducing Tickle Me Elmo sound effects when you press a button.

If you ever catch me using one of these to control my system, please put me out of my misery.
