This huge and delicious-looking imperial walker gingerbread treat was made by BlackMarket Bakery in Irvine, CA. It was created and baked by Rachel Klemek, the owner, who appears to be a sci-fi geek herself. The AT-AT is all gingerbread and icing, with licorice weapons.

It must be Christmas time on Hoth as well judging by all of the candy canes. This amazing geek delicacy is currently on display at the Discovery Science Center if you want a closer look. No licking!

The Imperial Crawler was created by Christopher Aleria, using a customized Axial Rock Crawler as its base. If only the Empire had thought to build these instead of the wobbly-legged Imperial Walkers, they probably would have won the Battle of Hoth much quicker. Though if they made any AT-STs using similar specs, they might have turned out looking like Imperial Segways.

It was part of his school’s Science Discovery Day a few months back, and while the students were busy creating their little dioramas, Jay spent $2,300 and six months to create this landing bay, prominently featured in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. That’s when Palpatine popped in to see Darth Vader’s progress on the second Death Star.

The build measured 6 by 6 feet and he only got to display it once. Jay has been a LEGO fanatic since 1973, and hasn’t had the heart to take it apart yet.

Created by Gentle Giant Studios, these bookends feature the pint-size likenesses of Boba Fett, a Gammorean guard and Princess Leia in her Boushh disguise. The Tauntaun taxidermy head is a nice touch too. Of course, the best part is the frozen block of carbonite, enshrouding Han Solo. I only wish that Jabba himself made an appearance.

Each set of limited-edition bookends measures about 14″ (w) x 9″ (h) x 6.5″ (d), and is made from polystone. You can order a set over at the Star Wars Shop for $225 (USD).

This ESB chess set was built by Brandon Griffith, who’s a part of the LA LEGO user group LUGOLA. What sets this chess set apart is that Brandon even depicts some great scenes from Episode V using mini dioramas. Personal faves include the Imperial Walkers, the AT-ATs and Darth Vader of course!

I suppose I have to agree that these posters make the original Star Wars trilogy look even older. This makes me wonder about the different ways that you could recreate some Star Wars posters. Maybe an all-Helvetica Star Wars poster? Or maybe that crazy San Francisco font from the original Macintosh.

The Battle for Hoth is a strategy game which takes the basic mechanics of a Tower Defense game and applies it to the Empire Strikes Back universe. The game takes place during the epic battle on the ice planet, and includes 15 levels and two gameplay modes, “classic” and “fortress” modes. You take on the task of commanding Rebel forces to prevent Imperial troops from reaching the main shield generators before the evacuation of Hoth is complete. You’ll be put in command of individual soldiers, laser and ion cannons, and can even launch Snowspeeders and X-wing fighters by deploying control towers.

While we haven’t yet had a chance to play the game, it looks like it could be a whole lot of fun – especially for die-hard Star Wars fans. Expect The Battle for Hoth to hit the App Store “any day now”. I for one am excited for any iPhone app that allows you to blow up AT-ATs.

If you don’t remember the Wampa, he’s that menacing, abominable, 8-foot tall, white inhabitant of Hoth who put a serious beatdown on Luke Skywalker before he managed to cut off its arm. But you guys are probably too busy staring at Slave Leia and not the fuzzy, bear-like rug she’s lying on top of. Stop it. Focus on the bearskin and not the bare skin. The Wampa rug is cool, and deserves to be on your floor, even if Leia doesn’t come with it.

From the photos that I’ve seen, this is a pretty good likeness of Solo frozen in carbonite from Empire Strikes Back. Alright, so this is only a bar of soap, not carbonite. Instead, these bars of soap are made from pure olive oil, shea butter, and aloe vera. Still, it’ll make you smile each morning when you get into shower (until it melts).

They are available for $6.50 at Luxury Lane and are actually made by hand! The only bad thing is that he won’t look like Han Solo for long!

Yep, don’t let the dominating size of the AT-AT walker take all your attention: Luke’s speeder from the Battle of Hoth is there, too, wrapping that vehicle up and taking it down.

This cakealicious masterpiece is the product of Charm City Cakes, and from the looks of the background in the above photo, this isn’t the first impressive project they’ve prepared. It probably wasn’t even the only one that day. But I bet it was the most action-packed cake of the week.

The tauntaun’s belly apparently zips up, to keep poor Luke nice and toasty warm. But does Luke look happy about it? No. But really, would you? We’re talking about bedding down in smelly guts here; you do it if you have to, but it’s not like you YouTube that business with pride or anything.

Poor Luke. You just want to give him a good wash hug.

It’s not all Lego bricks and minifigs, of course; some things had to be constructed by hand from other materials, like the tauntaun and the turrets, and I’m pretty sure there’s not a bacta tank playset. Though, really, there should be.

You can see the progression of the project at Flickr, along with a few lonely shots of what looks like another Star Wars project, though one inspired by the later trilogy. Nothing on the scale of Hoth, however, which is elaborate and enormous — with plenty of photos showing off the details, from the beginning until now.

The belts are made by Refinding, a wee company out of Kansas City that makes accessories out of all kinds of trash, er, reclaimed materials, like tire treads, tennis balls, typewriter letters, and, in this case, used trading cards. Refinders Sean and Linda use the word “trashion” quite liberally to describe their unique approach to accessorizing.

The belt is described as “Trading cards laminated, stitched to heavy nylon and then harnessed for the nefarious purpose of **holding up your pants.**” But since they sell this handmade and unique piece of fan-fashion for a mere 32 bucks, it doesn’t seem like there’s much malice to be found.
