Mario, Pac-Man and Donkey Kong already have their own energy drinks, so why shouldn’t Sonic the Hedgehog have one too? That’s exactly what designers Julie Aniela and Jak Hornblow thought when they designed this concept packaging for Chaos Emerald Energy Drink.

But they went one step further than just designing some cans, they came up with four different flavors – lemon, blue raspberry, fruit punch and green apple – to go with the four colors of Chaos Emeralds. The gold ring around the top of the cans is a nice touch, too.

They even went so far to create a nice box for the set of four cans, along with one of those Sonic 1up icons on one side and a 10-ring prize on the other. Unfortunately, this isn’t for a real product. The packaging was designed for a photo shoot to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sonic, back in 2011.

Even Doctor Robotnik would approve of these; though they certainly won’t help him with his figure. Now all they need to do is get someone to actually make these energy drinks, and we’ll be all set. Maybe they can convince Sonic Drive-In restaurants to bring them to market. I always thought they needed to do some sort of tie-in.

Apple has one of the sharpest and fastest-acting legal teams out there because there have actually been a lot of otherwise cool Apple or Steve Jobs-related products that have been pulled out of shelves because of trademark issues (like the Steve Jobs Frozen in Carbonite iPhone Skin. Remember that?)

Another product that’s up for a possible quick “cease-and-desist” is Facedrink. And it’s pretty obvious which company’s going to be wanting to pull this drink off of Amazon.

Facedrink is dubbed as “the social drink,” obviously a play on Facebook, “the social network.” But really, Facedrink is just an energy drink and I doubt there’s anything truly special about it, except for its packaging. As a matter of fact, one of the customer reviews say it tastes “god awful.”

The company’s website claims that it’s the drink that “gives you social energy – but really, what exactly is social energy?

Even Facedrink’s website kind of looks like Facebook. I wonder how long it will be before Zuckerberg and his team take notice of this, but I don’t think it will take long.

Have you ever wanted to taste the highly addictive energy drink from Futurama, that was called Slurm? Well, now you can thanks to some enterprising Futurama licensing folks. Although I can’t speak about its taste, which is apparently not that great, it’s still cool to have a can filled-up with Slurm.

The Slurm Energy Drink was first featured in the 1999 Futurama episode Fry and the Slurm Factory. It was the 13th episode of the first season, and if you don’t remember what Slurm actually is, check out this link for further info. Needless to say that Slurm’s only redeeming quality was that it was highly addictive.

Slurm energy drink actually came out back in 2008, but is now considered a “collectors item” so it’s selling for the ridiculous price of $29.95 over on Amazon. Ride the wave on Wormulon with Slurms McKenzie!

Don’t tell me that you’ve never wanted to drink some Romulan Ale. The drink was made popular by Star Trek, and pretty much anyone who’s seen the movies or the shows has wanted to drink some at some point in time. Now, you can buy some Romulan Ale for yourself.

Unlike the original in Star Trek, the Romulan Ale Star Trek Energy Drink won’t intoxicate you instantly. Instead, it has the opposite effect of waking you up, thanks to 84mg of caffeine and a cocktail of vitamins in each can.

Since it’s blue, I was pretty sure that it had to be some kind of sugary berry flavor – something like juiced up Powerade. You can get a 6-pack of Romulan Ale Energy Drink from ThinkGeek for $14.99 (USD).

Take this #winning advice!

This fun-looking energy drink looks like an IV bag filled with blood (and looks strangely familiar). Thankfully, it doesn’t taste like tiger blood. The flavor is fruit punch, so I’m sure that everyone will like it. It includes 80 mg of caffeine to perk you up and face your haters. Careful though, too much of it and you’ll become a warlock – or end up next to Jon Cryer on Two and a Half Men.

The Tiger Blood Energy Drink is currently available at Harcos Labs for $4. What are you waiting for? Get some tiger blood in you!

You know how all the vampires on True Blood drink bottles of artificial blood so they don’t have to get their nutrients from sucking on humans? Now you can enjoy the same trendy-vampire pleasure by guzzling down a bag of deliciously drinkable BLOOD.

BLOOD Energy Potion looks just like an IV transfusion bag, but is actually a drinkable concoction loaded with sweet fruit punch flavored energy drink. I love this part of the product description: “Not only does Blood Energy Potion have a similar nutritional makeup to real blood, but it has the same color, look, and consistency of blood. Get real blood nutrients without that real blood taste!” My only question is why it can’t taste like real blood? C’mon.

Unfortunately, if you’re hoping to serve some of this at your Halloween party, you’ll have to wait until next year since this stuff isn’t available until January. You can pre-order individual bags of BLOOD over at Urban Collector for $5.99 (USD) – or get a 48 pack for $191.92 which works out to be $3.99 a bag. Vampire Bill would be proud.

The Gears of War geeks over at Gearspedia describe Imulsion as “a phosphorescent, highly volatile, low-viscosity fluid originally discovered by an oil exploration drill on the planet Sera.” They go on to say “direct exposure to Imulsion for any length of time will cause Locust subjects to transform into Lambent forms, making them, amongst other things, highly explosive when killed. In extreme cases, Imulsion exposure will cause the subject to mutate uncontrollably…”

So why not turn Imulsion into an energy drink? Sounds yummy to me.

That’s what the guys over at Boston America have done with this sticky sweet yellow concoction being sold under the GOW brand name. I bet if Marcus and the Gears had been drinking this stuff all day long, they would have been much more efficient at curb-stomping the Locust Horde. But the Gears’ loss is your gain, and you can buy a case or two for yourself.

Imulsion Energy Drink is available over on Amazon for $2.99 (USD) a can.

There’s nothing more tiring than running around a maze all day, chasing down ghosts, being chased by ghosts and gobbling down power pills. What better way to get your strength back but with some delicious Pac-Man Energy Drink.

The cherry flavored drink is the perfect cure for cooling you down when you’re infected with Pac-Man Fever. This stuff is loaded with sugar, caffeine, and all that good stuff that makes an energy drink an energy drink. Down a dozen and chase ‘em with a couple of packs of Sweet Tarts for good measure. That should definitely get you buzzing for the day.

You can grab an 8.4 ounce can of the sticky-sweet liquid refreshment over at Amazon for $2.99 a pop.

At last! An EBOTDTM in your hands! In you’re barbarians’ hands! You want to test it out but it’s 3 am, and you’ve been grinding far longer than a techno DJ’s set. Should you walk away from your PC and crawl to bed? Hell No! Grab a can of Red Bull? No! You’re not a jock. Stick to your stereotype and chug on some Health Energy Potions!

Each 1.69 oz potion contains 160mg of bittergrain essence – Deckard Cain says it’s also known as “caffeine” – four times the amount found in plain old coffee. It also has other ingredients such as Elderberry, Ginseng, Biotin and Folic Acid that are sure to bestow minor/imaginary status effects. If it’s Mana you’re after, then drink the Mana Energy Potion: it’s made of exactly the same stuff, except that it’s blue. Magical.

But since you’re the one who’s going to benefit from these and not your character, you also have to shell out real money: a six-pack of these potions cost $19.99. Drink up and mow down some cows.

But if you think about it, these things really should be packaged as stamina potions, because they don’t really revitalize you. And you don’t have any mana to begin with. No really dude you don’t. Go to bed.
