The geeks at Double Research & Development have unveiled a new computer input device that is able to sense input from Sally and her four sisters.

The thing looks sort of like a mouse with five finger pads attached by flat circuits. Each of the pads under a finger can sense motion and pressure. That allows the five finger thingy to sense specific gestures and inputs by reading the position of a finger and the pressure.

It’s an interesting device, but whether or not it ever comes to market is anyone’s guess.

Good ol’ Double Research and Development Co should have used some of its doubly good research skills on a better translator. I hardly think that banner you see in the video above is what they meant. A new bland of welfare equipment sounds rather, well, bland to me.

I often curse Google Translate because its translation results tend to need translations themselves. I’ve yet to see a translation from Chinese or Japanese make much sense. I guess the issue goes both ways.

I’m sure some of you have seen the numerous and occasionally cryptic do’s and don’ts for the DSi. Well Blockhead’s Guitar Hero controller for the Wii also has its own demands. I was just minding my own business, laughing at Engrish pics, when I came upon Blockhead’s manual for their Max V wireless guitar. While Blockhead is definitely more conventional and straightforward in stating their rules compared to Nintendo, they are nonetheless equally worthy of internet fame:

At this point I’m thinking, “I can’t think yet, I’ve just fallen off my chair LOLing my ass off”. Then I got up and thought, “Wait a sec. This could easily be Photoshopped.” The logical step was to head on to Blockhead’s site and see if I could secure a copy of the manual, so head on I did. Looking at Blockhead’s website hope filled my heart; the manual was a possibility. How so? Let’s just say that when your kid’s Max V’s whammy bar isn’t whammying like it’s supposed to, don’t let them search for help on the net, lest you find yourself trying to not define certain acronyms for them:

I clicked on the fourth question and it led me to a link where I could get a copy of the manual. I downloaded it and promptly fell off my chair again. There it was, asking me not to insult the guitar. You can go see it for yourself if you still don’t believe me, it’s just a 2 page pdf file anyway.

And to those of you who do own a Max – V: Try insulting it. Please. Just once. Then tell us what happens.

For those of you out there who never played the 1989 Japanese game Zero Wing, “All your base are belong to us” might not mean anything (not like it made much sense even if you did play it).

Then again, the awesomely bad Engrish phrase has permeated geek culture for quite some time now, so if you’re not familiar with it by now, you’ve been living under a rock for the last 7 years. Now you can use the phrase to stake your claim on anything that’ll hold ink with this fun rubber stamp.

Designed with an appropriately retro bitmap typeface, the stamp was created by Etsy artist Terbearco, hidden between the artist’s stamps of bunny rabbits and birdies. (Also found in the artist’s collection, the F.U. stamp, perfect for making those cute animals profane).

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

The AYB stamp measures about 3″ x .5″ and costs just $6.99. So if you’re ready to make your mark on every piece of paper in the office, you can grab one here.
