The Poketo iPad case has an envelope shape, so you’ll have to be careful not to pop it inadvertently in the mail slot with your other letters. It reminds me of the time when the MacBook Air was unveiled to the world in an manilla envelope.

This case is made out of durable polyurethane, not paper, and closes with a classic string-and-button fastener. It comes in rust, gold, gray or black. The design has got unisex appeal, which make it a nice gift to give or receive to any iPad user over the holidays.

The case sells from Poketo for $48 (USD). There is another variant that uses two-tone leather that sells for $64.

I can’t remember the last time I sent analog mail. Hell, I can’t remember the first time I sent one. Map Envelope makes me want to send one now. It lets you add a Google Maps image to the inside of an envelope, kind of like a visual address, along with a short message. Then you print the envelope, fold and paste it together and you’re good to go.

It’s easy to attach a Google Maps image to any email, but I doubt that would elicit as much of a smile from whoever gets it. Map Envelope is a free service, so go ahead and give it a try. Then cross your fingers and hope the post office doesn’t lose your snail mail on the way.
