The Empire’s AT-ATs are wondrous, and that’s probably why I’ve seen them represented in so many different ways. This Star Wars AT-AT Vinyl Record Clock mashes up old vinyl records and AT-ATs for an awesome combination.

The clock is made by hand by the Etsy store owner NotByLaser. It works on a wall or on your desk. The design was inspired by the creator’s first box of records. Each of the handmade designs is custom-made, including the label color, style, and genre of the record. The design can also be flipped 180 degrees if you need that for the proper Feng Shui.

AT-AT Wire Sculpture: Get Bent on Hoth

The AT-AT Imperial Walker is one of the most iconic machines in the history of motion pictures, so whenever I spy some object made in the form of the classic robot camel from The Empire Strikes Back, it piques my curiosity. I’m especially happy to have stumbled onto this AT-AT interpretation, done up using carefully bent wire.

Artist Jakobi created this AT-AT sculpture by meticulously bending lengths of galvanized steel and stainless steel wire. He says it’s one of the more complex wire sculptures he’s ever created, and it definitely looks like it was challenging to get the shapes just right.

The sculpture measures about 12″ long by 10″ tall by 4.5″ wide, and would look great in an Star Wars collection. You can find it over on Etsy for $120 (USD). He’s also got a little AT-ST sculpture available for $70 if you prefer your walkers with two legs.

I know some guys who talk about their guitars or cars as if these objects were their girlfriends: they’re highly protective towards it, they do what they can to take care of it, and they love it to pieces.

The cool thing about the Female Form 6-string acoustic guitar is that it’s a little bit of both. It’s a quirkily-designed guitar, and while it’s not exactly a girl, it’s shaped like the torso of a female. (Read: it has all the right curves.)

The guitar is made-to-order only and is available from Celentano Woodworks on Etsy for $2,700 (USD). It’s not cheap, but it’s definitely unique.

Vintage Cameras Make Good Looking iOS Docks

What can you do with broken or discarded cameras that probably predate your date of birth? Unless they are still functioning, I guess they can make perfectly capable iPhone and iPod docks. Check out these retro docks made by Laboratoria Altieri. They put a whole new spin on reusing old tech.

There’s something cool about recycling old gadgets. While I don’t think that you should go ahead and destroy perfectly working cameras, no matter when they were made, broken and discarded ones can be reused in this fashion.

Each of these docks is handmade and unique, which is even better. They are available from Laboratoria Altieri’s Etsy shop with prices starting around $69 (USD). There are currently only a couple of models available, but once they sell out there will be probably more listed.

I Wish I Could Play this Space Invaders Floor Lamp

You can either decorate your place with the usual boring furniture or you can go all geek and decorate with things like this amazing Space Invaders floor lamp. It functions as either a nightlight or a decorative light. Either way, this lamp is pretty spectacular.

The aliens light up even when the room is not dark. You get an entire column of Space Invaders in a tall LED backlit lamp that sports a nice modern design. It measures about 47 inches-tall, and just under 8 inches-wide. This is perfect for the corner of any geek cave. In fact one of these would look great in every corner of your room.

Super Mario Mushroom Case Mod: Power On to Power Up

We love a good retro case mod and nothing says retro like a Super Mario Bros. mushroom. This one comes from Etsy seller 8BitBuilder (who created the even more special Zelda PC case) and it is an awesome looking Super Mario Mushroom PC tower case mod that that looks like it is about to lift off like a rocket.

If you have deep pockets, it can be yours for $1600(USD) over on Etsy. Sure that’s a little expensive, but it saves you the trouble of gluing hundreds of wooden cubes together and painting the whole thing. Plus you are getting a computer inside as well. It looks amazing. I just love those lights on the bottom. Too bad I don’t have the money to get one or the time to make one for myself.

I’d love to see this done as a 1-up mushroom. That would be even cooler because each purchase would give you another life.

Life Bar Necklace: Don’t Let Your Enemies See It

I’ve often wondered if having a life bar in real life would be more of a blessing or a curse. On one hand we’ll know when exactly to rest and recuperate, plus we’ll know which activities and food result in the most health boost. On the other hand finding out that you’re sick or dying when you feel otherwise is a real bummer. Thankfully this necklace has none of those implications.

The pendant measures about 2.5″ across and is made from layered black acrylic. The bar and the lettering both glow in the dark. It’s that lively.

They’re made from eco-friendly earthenware clay that been kiln fired twice up to 1900 °F. Lenny says that they are safe to microwave, but should be tested first as the handles of some models may heat up.

NES Controller Coffee Table Really Plays Games

This isn’t the first Nintendo controller coffee table, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t still look sweet. I like the fact that it is natural wood colored and it makes it look like this NES mated with an old Atari 2600. Everyone needs a good coffee table. The problem is that most are boring. Not this one. This one is all geek class.

It’s made by The Bohemian Workbench, using maple, mahogany, and walnut with dovetail joinery, so it not only looks good. Just remove the glass and it actually plays games when you hook it up to an old NES. It is built with quality as well. This table means serious business. It’s about 42″ long by 18.25″ wide, and stands at about 18” tall. It also will cost you $3,500(USD), plus shipping - but it looks worth it to me.

You are paying for quality materials, electronics, and of course workmanship. You can choose from four different versions (made from different woods or cheaper composites.) If I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Devil May Cry Rebellion Sword Replica Too Heavy for a Million Stab Combo

Fans of the Devil May Cry series will immediately recognize this massive and beautiful sword as Dante’s Rebellion. Yeah, I know that’s not Dante holding it – the hair cut and color is all wrong. It’s metalsmith Michael Craughwell (aka “MichaelCthulhu,”) who in his own words simply says “Giant swords are kinda my thing.”

You got that right, Mike. From the looks of this incredible thing, you’ve definitely got the giant sword thing down. It’s made from steel and weighs in at a whopping 33.5 pounds, so you’ll definitely need some upper body strength if you plan on wielding this thing in battle. The only thing missing is the glowing red eyes for the skull. But a couple of LEDs and a battery should take care of that, right?

Want proof that it’s made out of metal? Watch this video clip and see how shiny the steel remains after a bath in 1000 degree fire. It also proves the sword doesn’t glow like Dante’s. He’d have to get the heat up to 2000+ degrees to make it do that.

Darth Vader Soap: Luke, I Am Your Lather!

I know it seems like an odd question, but I wonder how Darth Vader kept himself clean inside of that suit. I can only imagine he got really sweaty in there, and it’s not like it would have been easy for him to get out of it to take a bath. While we may neve know how Vader scrubbed himself clean, at least you can take a bath with the help of the Dark Lord.

This gigantic Darth Vader soap weighs a full 1 kilogram (~2.2 pounds), and is sure to last you a very long time in the bath. At that size, it’s about 10 times the weight of an ordinary bar of soap, so you’ll probably need to slice it up to use it. It’s made by Etsy seller La Pretentieuse (The Pretentious), using their bamboo and spices soap as a base. While I never quite imagined that the aroma of the Dark Side was bamboo and spices, I suppose it’s better than the smell of Anakin’s burnt flesh and sweat.

You should note that since the jumbo Vader soap is made with black oxide, that it’s lather will be grey – despite the fact that it’s getting you clean. I like to think that bathing with this would eventually pull you over to the Dark Side, but that’s just me.

Priced at $85(USD), it’s definitely the most expensive bar of soap I’ve ever seen, but somebody has to help fund the construction of the next Death Star I suppose.

Star Wars Heels Aren’t Ideal For Hiking Through Hoth’s Snowy Surface

I would so buy these heels for my wife, assuming she had a geeky bone in her body. Further assuming, she was coordinated enough to wear heels without breaking a leg (love you honey). These heels are hand-painted with a solid representation of characters and scenes from Star Wars.

I will say that something is a bit off about Luke’s face on the red shoes. I prefer the blue version with scenes from Hoth and bikini-clad slave Leia. The shoes are painted by a woman named Holly Grothues and she’s happy to paint geeky scenes on other shoes as well.

That’s good news if your significant other likes geeky stuff, but not high heels. The heels sell for $85(USD) a pair over on Etsy, which isn’t a bad price – given the detailed work, it must take a long time to paint each pair.

Gumball Machine Dress Lets You Walk And Dispense Gum at the Same Time

I’m a sucker for anything that’s interactive, from books and posters to shoes and dresses. By “interactive,” I mean it adds an extra dimension or comes incorporated with a certain element based on the inspiration behind its design. Take this gumball machine dress, for example.

Currently available from Coyote Peyote’s shop on Etsy, the dress features neon gumball beads all over the bottom, while a number of them are sewn into a clear plastic material near the middle of the dress.

It’s a fun dress, although I don’t think I’m daring enough to wear it out myself. What would make it even cooler than it is right now is if the gumball machine could actually dispense real gumballs somehow to anyone who wants one (well, anyone you know.) Now wouldn’t that be something?

Legend of Zelda Triforce Lamp: A Link to My Wallet

Lamps provide the necessary light that we humans need to see by at night, so why are so many of them so boring? I wish i could go to my local department store and buy a lamp this cool, but I can’t. So thank God for the internets. I would much rather read by the soft light of this Triforce lamp than anything else.
