Seagate recently announced their take on Apple’s Time Machine + Time Capsule combo: an external hard drive that provides effortless automated backups. The backup device is called Replica, which is both what it makes and also what it is. Apple must be so proud. But does the Replica really replicate the Time Machine/Capsule experience?

Currently just a conceptual design, the TEMPO is an external storage device that’s designed to prevent you from losing files you accidentally delete. The clever thing about it is that it actually looks like a little recycling bin (although it might be mistaken for a cup of really black coffee).
