Take a look at the pair of glasses below. They look like your ordinary pair of contemporary sunglasses, no? Well take a closer look. Wait a second, those aren’t lenses at all. They’re sticky notes.

I’m doing my best to not call them Post-Its, as I know 3M’s itchy-trigger lawyers will send me a nasty note if I dare refer to them as Post-Its. So I’ll just call them Whats-Its. Or sticky notes. Let’s go with sticky notes. Now why would you want eyeglasses with sticky notes on them, you might ask? Well, here’s why…

See, you can make funny faces with them – turning your face into sort of a real-life Nintendo Mii. The possibilities are endless. Well actually, they’re pretty limited, but they’re still pretty awesome.

I spotted these Memo Eyes eyeglass note pads over at Funshop, so good luck finding them outside of Korea. But even if you could, it’s not like you could see out of them anyhow, and I’m certain they’re not covered by your company’s optical insurance.

Vuzix makes a bunch of different styles of video glasses that put small screens in front of your eyes to simulate a large screen. The last set of video glasses we talked about from the company was the Wrap 1200 that simulated a 75-inch screen. Vuzix has now announced that it has licensed patents from Nokia for see-through optics technology.

The licensing of the tech will allow Vuzix to work on glasses with see-through waveguide optics for its near-eye display systems. The glasses will use the Nokia EPE optics tech and will being new products to market.

Vuzix has some big goals in mind and is talking up the ability to make glasses that “Hollywood and Sci-Fi writers have only been able to imagine.” It would be cool if the glasses had screens you can see through when you don’t want to watch video and when you did the images could be played right on the lenses without sacrificing quality.

While I have to admit that I do think that the whole 3D trend is sort of over, these fashionable glasses from a pair of Norwegian twins are certainly less ugly than the ones we’re used to at movie theaters. The Ingri:Dahl James 3D glasses look like normal glasses, which is kind of cool.

Kine and Einy Paulsen are behind this brand and their glasses are supposed to be both functional and fashionable at the same time, especially if you don’t like those dweeby 3D glasses in theaters. These glasses are compatible with most 3D theaters in the world, as well as the latest passive-lens 3DTVs from LG, Vizio, Toshiba, and JVC, so they’ll get some use at home too.

These glasses sell for $29.50 on the Ingri:Dahl website. Not bad for a pair of 3D glasses that don’t look like 3D glasses.

There is no shortage of wearable camcorders on the market today with things like the GoPro and Replay cameras that allow you to wear a camera to get your view of what is happening when you do things. If you want a wearable camcorder that is a little more discrete and don’t mind wearing some ugly eyeglasses, the ZionEyez HD video recording glasses might be just what you need.

These glasses look like the old 80′s shades that were popular when I was a kid. The little sensor is right in front of the right earpiece on the front of the glasses. That sensor records in 720p HD resolution.

The glasses also have a hidden microphone and will offer WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity as well. The recorded video is saved to 8GB of internal storage.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

The battery is good for three hours of recording, which is actually pretty good. There is a microUSB port hidden on one of the side logos for sharing and shooting video over to your computer. The only downside (other than the questionable looks of the glasses) is that the things cost $199.99 (USD). If you pre-order though, you’ll get them for $149.99.

I love Lady Gaga. A lot. Don’t believe me? Check out my Last.fm page. That’s right; by my iTunes’ count I’ve played her tracks four hundred and fourteen times. The closest runner-up? Minus the Bear, at 133 plays. Boy, what can I say? I just like to dance.

So imagine my surprise (and inevitable delight) when a bored-at-work visit to Engadget resulted in a do-it-yourself lesson on how to craft your own cyberpunk-inspired Lady Gaga LED shades. To quote my good friend Wayne Campbell, “Shyeah!”

These sexy shades come courtesy of Instructables member “the_gella,” who assembled the GaGa goggles for her Halloween costume. And on the cheap, no less. All she did was combine two digital picture frames with the frames to a pair of sun lenses. Some pliers application and hot glue gunning later and voila:

Believe you me – I will make a pair of these in time for E3 this year. Just wait…

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve set my eyeglasses down somewhere really obvious. But, like Mr. Magoo, I completely misplace them anyhow. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure if I kept my glasses in this awesome Blinky ghost eyeglass case, I’d never lose track of them again.

Handmade by New York crafter (and according to her profile – future librarian, lazy artist, and aspiring pro bowler) badclipart, this Pac-Man ghost glasses case is the perfect way to keep tabs on your spectacles. Thanks to a bit of clever needlepoint work, Blinky looks just like he did when he first made his way into that fateful maze back in 1980.

Now I just absolutely had to get my grubby little mitts on this for myself, so it’s already too late if you want the original one featured above. Definitely swing by badclipart’s Etsy shop and hopefully she’ll whip up another one just for you.
