They might not be Federation approved, but if I were Captain, I’d have these in my chambers regardless of any Pillow Directives. These handmade pillows come in three styles: gold (for command), blue (for science), and red (for engineering). The guys over at Yellow Bug Boutique, who make these, claim that there is also a missing red security pillow which “was vaporized in scene 2.”

Each one measures 14″ x 14″ and is made from fleece and felt. Trekkies can head over to Etsy and beam down a set of three pillows for $100 (USD). Individual pillows will set you back $35 each, plus shipping. I wonder what shipping rates will be like once they perfect transporter technology.

If it wasn’t painfully obvious from the giant, obnoxious watermarks, this floppy-disk iPad case was made by none other than RabbitRampage – who has in the past brought us such goodies as the game console iPhone cases and some tiny felt game controllers.

While this felt case is modeled after the old 3.5 inch floppy disk, it actually measures in at 8.5 inches by 10.25 inches in order to accommodate your tablet. That makes it even bigger than one of those gigantic, antiquated 8 inch floppies, but rectangular instead of square. That gets me thinking – how would the disc turn inside of a rectangular enclosure anyhow?

This handmade wool felt bag is a dead ringer for the Doctor’s actual TARDIS, down to the police box signage and the light on top. It was made by Moscow’s Krukru Studio, and is the best gift you could possibly buy for a female Doctor Who fan. Heck, I’m a guy, and I might consider carrying around a man purse just so I can have the TARDIS with me at all times.

The TARDIS bag measures just 13.8″ (H) x 7″ (W), but like all TARDIS, it’s bound to be way bigger on the inside than out, so hopefully it’ll hold all your stuff.

Clearly, a lot of labor goes into the construction of each one of these bags, so that’s why it costs $180 (USD), but if you’re a serious Doctor Who fan, and you appreciate handcrafted wares, I think it’s worth it. Transport yourself over to Etsy now if you want one.

While her hack calls for a couple of 99¢ IKEA Nedda chair pads, any bits of felt will do. She also used an old scarf for the liner, which is important to keep your tablet pristine.

All that’s left is to cut out the necessary pieces to just slightly larger than your tablet, then sew in the liner. Once that’s done, just do the sew the felt layers together on three sides, and you’re done.

The Tilt iPad Heritage case is made out of 100% wood felt and semi-vegetable tanned leather that’s been naturally aged. The felt can be rolled up so that you can tilt your iPad on a desk to get some work done. The natural materials should also make for a nice contrast with the modern metal and glass body of the iPad 2.

Despite having no idea who Solid Snake was, Crafter averyg ended up having to make a plush Snake for Craftster’s Poppet Mini Swap (yes that’s “poppet”, not “puppet”), in which crafters have to make a requested doll for their swap partner.

Other than the giant head and lack of a nose or mouth, the felt and pipecleaner version of Snake is a dead ringer for Hideo Kojima’s Snake. Although I’m not quite sure about the eyes either. I’m pretty sure that when the government wanted to create the perfect soldier, they weren’t thinking about his eyelashes.

Designer Joey Roth (of ceramic speakers fame) created this beautiful rectangular mouse, using primarily felt, a little bit of teak, and a sliver of aluminum on the bottom as a foundation (although it looks like there are some tiny felt(?) feet there to help it glide along too.)

The mouse offers buttons on either side of a scroll wheel, and an optical sensor on the bottom. While I’m not sure that a rectangle is the most ergonomically-correct design in the palm of your hand, I’m willing to cut the design some slack because it looks so good. Regardless, the thought is that the felt will gradually conform to the shape of its user’s hand.

This particular mouse is only a prototype, to be shown at the American Design Club’s “Use Me” exhibit at 45 Great Jones Street in New York, between May 13th and May 16th, 2011. I’m hopeful that Joey decides to produce these mice, as I think they look really nice. Hey, I made a rhyme!

Jason created this to hide his new HDTV that he got for Christmas. He bought a bag of felt pieces from a fabric store and got cracking. He used Google images to ensure that the colors he was getting were accurate.

It’s a cool project if you are good at sewing. It’s also a good way of softening all the electronic stuff in your pad, so that your guests don’t suffer from too much tech overload.

Handmade by Catsicle, this silly-looking felt and fleece iPhone is made just for kitty. It’s loaded up with “64 gigs of organic catnip,” and even has a pair of dangly headphones for your cat to get tangled up in.

Available over at Etsy for $17.50 (USD), the catPhone is a bargain compared to letting your cat knock your actual iPhone 3GS onto the kitchen floor. Of course, knowing how absolutely stoned my cat gets on catnip, he’d probably rack up $500 in roaming charges on my AT&T bill.

The good ol’ NES controller has been used as the design for all sorts of cases and pouches, but they’re usually a little smaller. Coin purses. Wallets. Nintendo DS cases and mods. But sometimes you have to think big, especially if you have a 17 inch laptop and retro sensibilities.

But big things often come with big price tags, and the quilted NES laptop case weighs in at $55 (USD). That may just be worth it, however… so long as you can keep your friends from drooling all over it.

The Pac-Man tree skirt (bound to be at least as interesting as the actual gifts sitting on it) is an impressive 41 inches in diameter. That’s a lot of black felt spread about on your floor. I challenge you to roll on down to your favorite Xmas decor outlet and find something half so cool for so little.

Tell me that isn’t the face of evil–mischievous, adorable evil. Coolbeans717 has a massive Etsy shopfront just packed with all sorts of geek-inspired felted gadget cases. If you prefer, say, The Legend of Zelda, or maybe Spam (in a can, not in your e-mail), you can veer away from the path of Pac-Man, though it is inadvisable. There’s not much that compares to the ghost cases.

The pouches aren’t exactly cheap, as these things go–most of ‘em are priced at $20–but they look great, and it’s always wonderful to buy handmade.

I’m not sure if the giant eye or the crooked fangs are more charming here. I just know that I may have actually released a girlish cry of glee when I first came across this case. It’s the Eye Phone case, by the way. As though the thing itself wasn’t already disgustingly adorable!
