The new Sony PS Vita portable gaming console recently launched worldwide, so if you are lucky enough to have one you have probably been enjoying games like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Whether you like the Vita or not, here is a cool fight stick mod that you will want to check out.

This wacky mod [JP] transformed the handheld PS Vita into a full blown arcade system, with joystick controller optimized for fighters. It’s cool, if you don’t mind the tiny screen, that is. Check out the video, which shows it in action.

It’s worth noting how great the PS Vita version of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 looks on the console. It looks every bit as good as the PS3 version. This fight stick mod on the other hand, though very impressive, just looks silly being so massive compared to the itty-bitty PS Vita. The whole setup makes this dude’s hands look huge.

These office chairs are crafted from old military aircraft ejector seats – and they are awesome.

The guys over at Motoart took this seat from an authentic Vietnam-era F-4 fighter jet, and turned it into a cushy, padded desk chair. The seat has been upgraded with a sturdy aluminum base, durable double-wheel casters and upholstered with clean new fabric. Plus, those armrest look like they could be a little uncomfortable.

Are you a bomber, not a fighter? Do you just need a little extra upper-back support? Then you might like this disproportionately tall B-52 ejector seat instead:

Of course, the big flaw in the design of these things is the fact that they’re meant to be desk chairs. Really, why would you need to eject yourself from your own workspace? I’d much rather have a pair of visitors’ chairs that I could use to eject annoying co-workers from my office. I could use that today – and yesterday – and tomorrow.

To check out the complete collection of these airplane office seating and other cool furniture crafted from antique aviation parts, fly on over to Motoart.

This Galaga pillow is sure to liven up your bedtime by adding a touch of pew pew pew! to your nightly ritual.

The fleece pillow is handmade by CrazyOwl and sports a fighter from one of the mostest awesomest video games of all time, Galaga. It can be yours from Etsy for a mere $8. Oh CrazyOwl, you should really value your time more highly. That pillow is worth at least $8.50!

The pillow is “made in a smoke and pet-free home” which is good news if the last thing you ordered from Etsy was coated in cat hair and ash and triggered an anaphylactic reaction and hives. That totally happened to me. OK not really, but once I did get an Etsy purchase that smelled weirdly like Pine-Sol. Tragic but true. I’m still in therapy about it, thanks for asking.

P.S. If you would rather play Galaga than merely hug its fleecy stand-in, then you can play it in Firefox by downloading FireNes, or you can go for this janky online version (amusingly called “Galaca.”) I don’t recommend the phony Nintendo online version because it crashed my computer like 8 times, but maybe you like to live dangerously.

The Xbox 360′s standard controller has an excellent reputation, but sometimes you just want the heft and precision of a real arcade joystick. So if you’re looking for a really substantial controller for your 360, Japan’s Hori is about to bring the answer to your prayers.

The new Hori Real Arcade Pro EX is one serious stick, complete with eight individual oversize action buttons and a ball-grip joystick that’s as good as anything you’d find in an arcade. (As a matter of fact, they’re using the same Sanwa sticks that are used in arcade machines). The button configuration should be great for playing classic games on Xbox Live Arcade, but are optimized for duking it out in fighters like VF5 and the impending Soul Calibur IV. And if you’re into online play, there’s even a jack for an Xbox Live headset.

These bad boys retail for ¥12,000 (appx. $112 US) in Japan, but by the time you pay for shipping and handling to the U.S., figure you’ll be spending around twice that. NCSX has already sold out of pre-orders, but Play-Asia expects to start selling these in the next few days.

For those of us with PlayStation 3 consoles, I’m happy to say that what has all the makings of a potentially good game will be coming out very soon. Yep, Ninja Theory’s much anticipated hack-and-slash game Heavenly Sword is headed to store shelves on September 12th, 2007.

I’ve played the demo, and was certainly impressed with the game’s graphical prowess. Think of it as of Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but with better graphics (if that’s possible) and longer hair. Since the demo was so ridiculously short, it’s hard to tell if it will have the difficulty curve or depth of Itagaki’s Ninja classic, but since I already played that to death on the old Xbox, I’m just thrilled to have some truly original content coming to Sony’s big black box.

Seeing that I’ve spent far more time downloading system updates than actually playing games on my PS3, this is welcome news.

Hori’s new Arcade Fighting Stick for the Nintendo Wii looks pretty nice, with a large 8-way digital stick and 8 gaming buttons. While it’s meant for fighting games, it also looks like it could be perfect for playing many of the systems Virtual Console classics.

The controller is expected to be released this August, an is available for pre-order for $52.90 from Play-Asia.

The SEGA Virtua Stick High Grade Controller is a must buy if you’re serious about your fighting games.

The $79 controller features a serious arcade-quality (analog) joystick and buttons, and build quality is solid and substantial. It’s so heavy that overseas shipping will set you back over 40 bucks, so don’t expect this thing to slide off of your lap.

Since it’s USB-based, you can use it on your PlayStation 3 or on a PC (it’s said to work great with MAME.) It’s possible it’ll work on the Xbox 360 too, but only time will tell on that. Keep in mind that the PS3 only supports the SIXAXIS controller on PS2 games, so you won’t be able to use it to play your older games.
