I have nothing against bottled water, but I think it’s wasteful to drink from plastic bottles you’ll eventually throw out all the time – not to mention, expensive. One neat alternative to this is the Eau Good Water Bottle, which is definitely good for more than just one use.

The Eau Good is a filtering system in a bottle so you can drink water from the tap without worrying if it’s clean enough. This water bottle has a binchotan active charcoal filter inside which purifies your water. This type of filter has been found to balance the water’s pH, reduce chlorine content, and mineralize the water to make it taste better. (At least that’s what it says on the product page.)

No word on pricing yet, but the Eau Good Water Bottle will be launched to the public in April 2012.

It’s probably with all of these considerations in mind that Elodie Delassus came up with the Cocoon Pillow concept. It’s a curved pillow that will cradle the baby’s head gently while providing extra protection from dirt and noise, thanks to state-of-the-art noise-canceling technology, a HEPA air filtration system, and an air particle ionizer that’s been incorporated into the pillow.

Now if only Elodie could design one for adults who value silence and clean air, too…

The case works exactly the same as the iPhone 4/4S version and has the same nine effects and filters. It just looks slightly different, with the wheel located more to the middle of the case because of the difference in the placement of the rear camera between the two phones. The case installs easily onto your iPhone 4 or 4S. Once its fitted, you have access to 9 different and crazy effects, without the need to access any specialized software or apps. And since these are actual optical filters, they can be used in concert with any picture-taking app.

I think I can fit a couple of these in my wallet. As DVICE‘s Michael Trei said, the best smoke hood won’t be able to help if you don’t have it with you when a fire breaks out. The FireScuba is made of nothing but cardboard and a carbon filter, so not only will it be easier to carry, I’m sure it’s also a hell of a lot cheaper to make than a gas mask.

Obviously it still needs to be tested, but the designer is onto something here; I hope the FireScuba becomes an actual product. I guess it all depends on how efficient the carbon filter is in trapping smoke.

The DSi Studio Kit provides you with a variety of shooting options including a removable flash, and wide angle, macro/close-up and telephoto lens attachments. There’s also a set of 6 color filters you can use to create visual effects. Thrustmaster also includes a (shiny metallic) protective cover that holds the lenses and filter attachments in place.

While the packaging and styling appear to be targeted towards the Barbie and American Girl Place set, there’s no reason that we can’t all enjoy it. Although I might have to replace the shiny metallic carrying bag with something a bit more macho.

The appropriately named Seeing Double clock uses Red and a green colored filters at the end of the hour and minute hands reveal the true time.
