Are you worried about the fact that your bank doesn’t allow you to handle your transactions by using gestures? (Well, there’s the one fingered gesture that we would all sometimes like to flip all of our banks.) How would you like to bank via your Xbox Kinect?

Crazy as it sounds, Lithuanian software company Etronika has created a Kinect-based user interface for their banking software. Waving your arm to the left rotates the top row. If you wave your right arm, the bottom row rotates. To select an icon just move your hands together in front of it. Pretty simple.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

Etronika demonstrated it at this week’s CTIA conference, where they showed a user paying a bill with it. When it was complete, the user held up his phone and waved his left hand, magically sending a copy of the bill to his phone. Well, that is a simple way to pay a bill, I have to admit.

Don’t hold your breath while waiting for this to be available though. Sadly, at the moment, Microsoft doesn’t permit companies to sell products based on Kinect technologies. Maybe they should. I’d like to see more like this one, even if it is another excuse to keep me in front of my console.

If you’re looking for a cool gift idea for the investor who has everything, you might want to check out this new wireless stock tracker from Ambient Devices.

Using Ambient’s radio data network, the Wireless Stock Market Reporter automatically grabs updates with the latest figures for the Dow, Nasdaq and S&P 500 markets. The 5-inch LCD screen refreshes periodically and can chart the highs and lows of the day as it goes.

Since it runs on battery power, there are no wires to run, and it can even hang on a wall or on a refrigerator thanks to a magnetic back.

It’s $129.95 and will be available from Hammacher Schlemmer this August.
