Let this be said: I enjoyed playing Robot Unicorn Attack more than I do playing/watching Final Fantasy XIII.

Battles take place tactics-style. To win, you must kill all of the rival employees, or capture more cubicles than the opposing team. Employees consist of managers, receptionists, IT guys and salesmen, with varying specialties and attack ranges. Before each battle, you choose which of these employees and how many of each type to hire, as long as you spend within the budget. There are power ups on the field too, all of them office related as well, e.g. “Holiday Bonus”, which heals a unit and bestows a temporary attack bonus.

The game is kinda slow-paced, but the animations made me stick with it, especially the salesman’s attacks and the manager’s moves. Check out the HRmageddon at Adult Swim. And also Robot Unicorn Attack; and Dungeons and Dungeons; and Death Vegas.

Little Wheel has a simple story, amazing visuals and an even more outstanding soundtrack. The setting is a bit desolate, but the jazz background music complements the robot protagonist’s clumsy movements.

I actually left the game on in another tab while writing this post so I can enjoy the music a bit more. Hard to believe that something so brilliantly made is free. Why don’t you go to Fast Games and play it right now?

Tetris Friends is an online gaming experience that offers a bunch of Flash-based variants on the classic puzzler by Alexey Pajitnov.

The site currently features 7 single-player variants of the game, along with 3 multiplayer games, including this over-the-top 6-player mode.

Games include Marathon, which requires that you finish all 15 levels to win, Sprint, in which you’ve got to clear 40 lines as quickly as possible, and even an Ice Age movie version where you stack acorns instead of blocks. But in between all the modern versions, there’s a loving tribute to retro gaming with Tetris 1989, which looks like a giant version of the Gameboy classic.

In addition to the standalone site, Tetris Friends is already gaining significant popularity as a Facebook App, so you’ll definitely find no shortage of people to play against. Just don’t look at the leaderboards unless you really want to be depressed about your gaming skills.

Morbid kicks off with a very dark introduction that invokes plague-infested Europe in times of old, and the black and white art style (with its occasional hint of color) really suits the game’s atmosphere. Odd little touches like this don’t hurt, either:

As mysteries go, Morbid isn’t terribly complicated, and the clues aren’t always the best. But it’s a very satisfying short adventure despite a few flaws, and the sound is often a nice touch. It’s worth a try–completing the entire game won’t take long at all.

Flash game maker/ultimate survivor Rete created the game Don’t Sh*t Your Pants to recreate one of life’s most nerve wracking and horrific experiences, when the worst parts of you are peeking out and you’re not yet in a position to do something about it. It’s a text-based game, so you use phrases like “open door” or “sit in toilet” instead of directly controlling the character. Whereas the first text-based games were about fantasy and mythology, Don’t Shit Your Pants keeps it real and redefines the “survival horror” genre of video games.

Sporting multiple, often disastrously comic endings, where and how you poo-poo is up to you. Forget Resident Evil 5 and play Don’t Shit Your Pants for free at Kongregate; because a chainsaw-wielding, parasite-infested non-zombie is just a bunny with a pink ribbon compared to thought of crapping with your pants still on.
