They might not be Federation approved, but if I were Captain, I’d have these in my chambers regardless of any Pillow Directives. These handmade pillows come in three styles: gold (for command), blue (for science), and red (for engineering). The guys over at Yellow Bug Boutique, who make these, claim that there is also a missing red security pillow which “was vaporized in scene 2.”

Each one measures 14″ x 14″ and is made from fleece and felt. Trekkies can head over to Etsy and beam down a set of three pillows for $100 (USD). Individual pillows will set you back $35 each, plus shipping. I wonder what shipping rates will be like once they perfect transporter technology.

This Pac-Man raschel fleece blanket from Backstage Pass measures about 50″ x 60″ and is made from polyester – which also happens to be what Pac-Man himself is made of. Trust me, I read it somewhere, I’m sure. Or maybe that was the ghosts who were made from the stuff. Or maybe I’ve just been eating too many power pills.

Handmade by Catsicle, this silly-looking felt and fleece iPhone is made just for kitty. It’s loaded up with “64 gigs of organic catnip,” and even has a pair of dangly headphones for your cat to get tangled up in.

Available over at Etsy for $17.50 (USD), the catPhone is a bargain compared to letting your cat knock your actual iPhone 3GS onto the kitchen floor. Of course, knowing how absolutely stoned my cat gets on catnip, he’d probably rack up $500 in roaming charges on my AT&T bill.

Thanks to the use of a free pattern, Craftster forum member Ilia was able to complete these two rockin’ Federation stockings for less than five bucks. It’s even harder to argue with results like that than it is to argue with Star Trek.

However, as one other member commented… red shirt stockings just don’t seem destined for good gifts. Watch and make sure that one doesn’t end up in the fireplace or something.

Of course, if you prefer a different shade of green or perhaps a nice red, no worries–there’s a fleece hat for all tastes, so long as those tastes involve Nintendo characters. If you have to have something more absurdly elaborate, there are even Kingdom Hearts hats available from the same Etsy shop.

You’ll pay through the nose (head?) for one of those fancier numbers, however–that Kingdom Hearts hat is $50, compared to an average of $26 for the other available designs.

The fleece pillow is handmade by CrazyOwl and sports a fighter from one of the mostest awesomest video games of all time, Galaga. It can be yours from Etsy for a mere $8. Oh CrazyOwl, you should really value your time more highly. That pillow is worth at least $8.50!

The pillow is “made in a smoke and pet-free home” which is good news if the last thing you ordered from Etsy was coated in cat hair and ash and triggered an anaphylactic reaction and hives. That totally happened to me. OK not really, but once I did get an Etsy purchase that smelled weirdly like Pine-Sol. Tragic but true. I’m still in therapy about it, thanks for asking.

If you would rather play Galaga than merely hug its fleecy stand-in, then you can play it in Firefox by downloading FireNes, or you can go for this janky online version (amusingly called “Galaca.”) I don’t recommend the phony Nintendo online version because it crashed my computer like 8 times, but maybe you like to live dangerously.
