Hanfree Stand Makes Your iPad Float in Mid-Air

Do you ever get tired of holding your iPad in bed? Well, it looks like there’s an accessory that will help you deal with that situation once and for all. It’s called the Hanfree and it will work with the iPad and iPad 2. The stand will literally make your iPad float above your bed.

The Hanfree is a cleverly designed stand that will suspend your iPad in mid-air. This means that it can be used to watch media, read books or instructions, in bed or while you cook, and plenty more.

It looks pretty cool, especially if you spend hours in bed or in the kitchen with your iPad. I don’t, but maybe you do. The Hanfree also has a versatile ball-socket pivot point, which allows you to easily angle and swivel your iPad to your preferred viewing angle.

The creators are still seeking funding via Kickstarter. This means that you can pre-order the stand for only $50 (USD). Once it’s in production, it will cost $80, so by helping to fund production, you get a nice deal too.

Okay, honestly this is the best item for sale on ThinkGeek to date. The Levitron Revolution World Stage comes with a globe that hovers with the power of MAGNETS! Aren’t magnets cool? If you get tired of the floating globe you can open up the globe, remove the magnet disc and use that to make other things float in the air (maximum capacity 3 oz)!

The whole kit comes with an AC powered base with 8 blue LED lights, so you can see your laws defying creation in the dark! And the globe with the removable magnetic disc. This action shot from ThinkGeek is just awesome, I’m still convinced that its Photoshopped. But I want to believe it.

The Levitron Revolution World Stage can be purchased for $99.99 (USD) on ThinkGeek. So what would you make float? I’m thinking of a ninja turtle on a hover board.

Giant Asimo at Rose Bowl Parade

Honda’s hand-shaking, stair-climbing, head-bowing, face-not having robot ASIMO has been exposed to Gigantor rays and has been blown up to 12 times it’s size. But don’t expect any Double Blizzards coming out of it: Robert over at GeekAlerts says that Gigantor ASIMO “will be completed with natural materials like lettuce seed, rice, carnations and strawflower.” Yay?

The 49-foot tall Veggie Gigantor Top Hat Asimo will be featured in the 120th Rose Bowl Parade, along with the Prairie View A&M University Marching Band. Since 2008 also marks Honda’s 50th anniversary of US operations, a Honda Super Cub motorcycle (the first model sold in the U.S.) will also parade, and be ignored, alongside ASIMO.

I hope they discover Gundamium soon, because carnations just won’t do.

Amphibious Media Player Floats, Docks on Dry Land

Here’s a unique digital media player from Japan’s Victor/JVC. It’s a completely self-contained waterproof audio system that can float in your tub.

When Victor’s XA-AQ33-W media player isn’t swimming around the bathtub with you, it can head to dry dock in a stand that sits on your bedside table. The player does its job to play up to 256MB of MP3 and WMA music through a built-in amplified speaker. It’s also got LED illumination underneath, producing a cool glow of blue light. There’s even a handful of pre-installed “relaxation tunes” to help you chill out.

The player runs on batteries, so you can even take it out to the pool if you’d like (not that I’d ever use something that plugs into an outlet in the tub). You should get about 15 hours of play on a single set of batteries.

The whole thing looks a bit spacecraft-like to me, making it perfect for that outer-space themed room I know you’re just dying to decorate.

Aquarain Turns Your Bath Into a Light and Fountain Show

This gadget takes your ordinary bathtub and brings it to life in a cascade of moving water and bright colors.

The AquaRain is a battery-powered device that floats along the surface of your bathwater and sprays a geyser of constantly recirculating water into the air in a couple of different patterns. Add to that a set of three color-changing LEDs, and you’ve got yourself a serious light show in your tub.

While it might not come close to the fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, it’s should offer enough of a display for most bathtubs. The AquaRain is available now from NCSX for $39.
