I have long since given up on trying to learn the technique or pattern that he was always telling me to look out for. He says Rubik’s Cubes relieve him of his stress, but in my case, it does the opposite. Every Rubik’s Cube, that is, except for this one.

That’s because this isn’t really a real Rubik’s Cube at all. It’s just a stress ball cube that was made to look like one, though. And with this particular Rubik’s Cube, I can finally get some stress relief because no brain power has to go into trying to “figure out” this cube, that’s for sure.

The guys over at UK gift maker SpinningHat came up with these sick and twisted things, and I love them for it. I found the shower curtain over at ParamountZone for just £8.99 (appx. $13 USD) – but there’s no word on when they’ll start stocking the matching bath mat.

Actually, the gadget is a practical joke, which lets YOU decide who it singles out. There’s an inconspicuous button that lets you make the alarm light and sound go off on the mark of your choice. There’s also slightly edgier “adult” version if you don’t already swear enough times during the day.

Available in PSP, iPod and laser pointer versions, the $3.95 devices all deliver a tiny zap of current to your unsuspecting victim. Surprisingly, the laser pointer is actually functional, but don’t expect to play any games or music on the other gadgets. There’s also a fake car alarm remote that I came across a few weeks back too.

On a couple of occasions in my I’ve had defective electronic gear that decided to surprise me with a nasty jolt, but doing it intentionally just strikes me as plain cruel.

The labels say “Now Slower and with More Bugs”, making them perfect on a copy of Windows Vista or maybe even Mac OS X Leopard. But they don’t just work with software. They’re also great when applied above that flashing red ring of death on your Xbox 360 or on your copy of the PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed. The possibilities are endless.

I also find the part about “more bugs” particularly funny when stuck on a box of Wheaties or Rice Krispies, although I’m not sure the “slower” part makes too much sense in that context. Eh, how much can you expect from a 25 cent sticker?

The thing that makes me a bit nervous about this gag is that the company who makes them says there’s a laser pointer built into it, but it’s broken out of the box. There’s a hole and a button for the beam, but they don’t seem to do anything. Ah… nothing like quality control. I figure if they’re able to make that kind of glaring mistake, what’s the likelihood they got the amperage correct so you just annoy your buddies, rather than send them to an untimely demise.
