Looking for a way to both keep your arms warm and be prepared for when a medieval clash breaks out? Browse Etsy seller Crystal Idyll’s array of dragonhide gauntlets. By dragonhide she means anodized aluminum, BTW. I didn’t know my computer was made from a dead dragon’s carcass.

The aluminum scales are knitted on top of black acrylic yarn. Crystal Idyll didn’t provide any fantasy equivalent for acryclic yarn. The scales come in different colors and the gauntlets are available in different lengths as well.

DIY D&D Gauntlet Rolls Some No-sided Dice

Players of role playing games like D & D roll a lot of dice. You may even get sick of rolling die after a while or are just looking for a new high-tech way to roll dice. If that’s the case, here is your next DIY project.

This DIY gauntlet “rolls” the die for you. Doesn’t matter if it’s a 6 sided die or a 20 sided die since no physical die are involved. It’s a wearable cuff that will roll 100, 20, 12, 10, 8, 6, and 4-sided die for you in response to your arm movement, thanks to an accelerometer, an Arduino controller, and a 7-segment, 4-digit yellow display.

This would come in handy for quite a few games that I can think of besides D & D. Just flip the switch, shake your arm, and it works it’s magic. If you want to make your own, follow the instructions found over at the Spark Fun Electronics Blog.

BodyGuard: Futuristic Gauntlet Stun Gun Becomes Reality

It’s surprising how some tech that you thought belonged in science-fiction can actually become reality. The BodyGuard is a stun gun that is housed in a futuristic gauntlet and will “add” an extra 300,000+ volts to any punch you land. Talk about knocking someone’s socks off!

I guess that this non-lethal weapon will be something that riot police everywhere will love. Strangely enough The BodyGuard was invented by a cameraman who thought that it would be very practical to use a a defensive weapon while still keeping your hands free. Actually, he decided to invent it after he heard about people who had been attacked by a mountain lion on one of his regular hiking trails. It weighs under three pounds and has an armored part to stop melee weapons. Another advantage of the BodyGuard is that it’s virtually impossible for an attacker to steal and use against it’s owner.

Currently, the bulge that you see is empty, but it will eventually offer other modular devices, such as a GPS, HD camera, flashlight and more. You can find more information over at ArmStar, but no price has yet been announced. For more details on how it works, view the patent docs here.

Gauntlet Ds Hacks Its Way Out of Cancellation

For a long time, Gauntlet DS needed a publisher badly. Eidos was set to bring the classic hack-and-slash game to the Nintendo handheld, but the game faded away with little fanfare. Gauntlet DS has resurfaced, though, with Majesco apparently backing the project.

Gauntlet DS disappeared from retailer lists earlier this year, but the title–with its new publisher–has returned, and was spotted on the ESRB website with its fancy new rating.

The game has no new date yet, nor have there been any formal announcements, but it certainly seems like the classic team is finally set for release on the DS.
