It’s less than two weeks until Valentines Day, and if you haven’t already gotten a gift for your geeky sweetie, here’s an idea. Instead of the usual candy and flowers, how about some cool technology, wrapped up in a shiny red package?

Logitech’s Mini Boombox is a great way to fill a room with sound, and it’s available in a nifty candy-like red color scheme, perfect for Valentines Day – but great long beyond February 14th. This compact sound system fits in the palm of your hand, but offers substantial sound when paired up with your Bluetooth-enabled gadgets. It’s also got backlit touch-based controls for playback, volume and pairing with your phone.

It’s definitely small enough to carry in a backpack or large purse too. Battery life is rated at about 10 hours, and it even will work as a speakerphone for your A2DP-enabled Bluetooth devices, thanks to a built-in mic. It’s also got a 3.5mm input jack if you need to go old-school. And if for some reason red isn’t the right thing for you, it’s available in black too – but that would sort of defeat the whole Valentines Day theme.

Space Invaders Pixel Ring: Way Better Than a Crummy Diamond

If you’re a lover of classic video games, then you’ll probably dig this retro-style ring, made to look like a Space Invader. What I really love about it is that it’s not just a solid shape, but it actually looks like its made up of pixels.

Each one is handmade by Virginie Millefiori, who creates all sorts of cool jewelry, including an entire collection of Invaders-inspired wares. In this particular case, the ring is made from gold-plated brass, then hand-enameled in white to create the pixel effect.

While the ring in the picture above is clearly a different (non-pixellated) Invader, I couldn’t resist posting a picture of a cute girl rockin’ an awesome Space Invaders ring, and showing it off for the camera. This particular ring sells for $50 (USD) over on Etsy, and it would look great along with a matching pendant, don’t you think? You can also order them in silver-plate or different shades of enamel on request.

When I was growing up, I loved my video games. Even though all I had was a classic NES console, it got the job done when it mattered. Nowadays, both boys and girls love video games. Silent Hill Nurses Land in Ohio

The Silent Hill video game series always gave me the creeps. There aren’t too many games that made me jump out of my seat at times, but those games always had me on edge. Sure there was Pyramid Head, but they also had those really creepy Bubble Head Nurses starting in Silent Hill 2. These chicks were definitely the stuff nightmares are made of. A couple of them broke out of the institution and showed up at last week’s Ohayocon convention.

For some reason, these girls look a little more sexy than the ones in the game. Maybe it’s that “come hither” body language they’re showing off as they wave around their bloody pipes, or maybe it’s just that the Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio has better lighting than Silent Hill.

Even Strippers Can Dress in TRON Gear

Generally, when I think of geeky clothing I think of guys and stuff like the TRON replica motorcycle suit. Apparently, there is a market for geeky gear for the ladies too, and Disney is all up on it with some new TRON items. The first product is a pair of spiked platform sandals that cost $795 that would be perfect for any stripper working Comic Com.

Those shoes aren’t the only items in the collection from various designers. The price for the gear ranges from $90 to $2,600 and includes earrings and belts. I have to mention the belts if for no other reason than the designer is Han Cholo and the buckle is a golden light cycle.

The most expensive piece in the collection is a sterling silver necklace with the icon symbol from the TRON flick.

If anyone out there can tell my why in the hell sterling silver is worth $2,600 – no matter what it’s shaped like, drop me a line so I can sell you some at a large profit.

8-Bit Fingernails: Pixel Manicure Anyone?

Gamer girls… If you’re don’t mind wearing fake fingernails, have I got something for you. You’ll definitely stand out in a crowd wearing these acrylic fingernails, inspired by classic 8-bit gaming. For starters, we have the Atari 2600 nails.

They’ve got other pixelated nails over at their Etsy shop, but they’re all a bit more abstract than these. One thing I noticed is how they don’t have pictures of anyone actually wearing these, so I’m not sure if you’ll look cool or just tacky wearing them. Anyone wanna be a hand model?
