You can order the geek pocket watch at Uncommon Goods for $85 – ($0 x $1) + $32 -$32 (USD). I only recognize four of the twelve equations/symbols/numbers on this watch, but as I said before, you don’t really need to solve any of them because it’s a freakin’ analog clock; 2 o’clock looks like 2 o’clock regardless of the symbols. I should come up with a digital math clock; I’ll be a millionaire in no time at all. Amirite?

Until ten minutes ago, I wasn’t aware that telling the time was too easy for some people. Here are a couple of timepieces so smart they’re stupid:

Here’s the square root watch; I guess all that’s left to say is you can get this for $40 over at SkyMall. Also, what is 8:15 in square root time?

Now this, this would be the entrance exam at a Mensa Preschool. It’s made by Triple Nine Society, and while it’s a hell of a lot more difficult than the square root watch, it’s way cheaper at $12.60. It’ll be 9:27 by the time you figure out what 8:15 is with this one.

Of course these timepieces make for fun gifts, but they’re not really really smart or geeky because even if you put the equation for black holes in place of, say, 11, I’d still know it’s 11 because it’s on the upper right hand area of the clock. Upper left hand. Lower left? Can I phone a friend?

A real geek watch would ask you for the time. Solve that.

Quick survey! Which would you prefer? Sparkly albino vampire vs. dirty raggedy vampire baseball, or Jedi vs. Sith baseball? In other words, are you a young girl or are you an old nerd? Don’t say “both”. Because I have no vampire stuff right now, only these cool Drew Pearson Star Wars jerseys.

These cotton knit baseball jerseys from Drew Pearson Marketing feature the strongest of the strong in Soul Calibur. I meant in Star Wars. The Jedi jersey’s number is done in felt applique, while the letters are in tackle twill with satin stitch embroidery. I don’t know what that means but you might. What’s weird though is that the only available sizes are M, L, XL and XXL. Come on Drew Pearson Marketing. Yoda is XXXS. A bit of respect here.

If you like playing for the dark side, then the Sith jersey is for you. It’s also a cotton knit jersey with all numbers and letters done in felt applique. Both Sith and Jedi jerseys have “official woven loop” Star Wars labels on them. What makes the label official? I don’t know. Trade Federation approval?

The Vader hockey jersey is more Dark Side-y than the baseball one. It has “flaming Vader” graphics, and on the sleeves there are tiny “Sith League” logos set off by metal studs. And on the front is a mugshot of a genocidal man.

For those who prefer a game of hoops, and by that I mean either 2k9 or Live, I have two words for you: Rocket Pack.

All of the uniforms sell for $110, except for the Fett one which goes for $100. There are also football jerseys and a Dark Side basketball jersey. Force click the link below to see them all.

Okay just click the link with your puny mouse.

Classical music store Passionato has packed the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach into an equally classic 120 Gb iPod classic. Classic classic classic. From the pictures on the site it doesn’t seem like the iPod has any Bachmarks on it, unlike the U2 iPod, but even at £499 ($748) this thing is still quite a steal for all Bach fans.

Why would a $750 iPod still count as a good deal? Because if you buy the complete works of the Bachman separately, it’ll run you close to $1,500. And that’s without the iPod. Passionato sweetens the deal by including a copy of all of the Bachmusic in the form of 3 DVDs, so even if you lose the Bachpod, you’ll still have your Bachup. Pada-bish!

Also, even with the complete works stuffed in it the iPod still has 63 Gb of disk space left. Just add Skid Row and the Bachpod is truly complete. As for the music, Passionato says, “Renowned Bach conductor Helmuth Rilling is joined by Thomas Quasthoff, Christoph Prégardien, Christine Schäfer and many other fantastic soloists, ensembles, choirs and orchestras on this truly outstanding set of award-winning recordings from prestigious German label Hänssler.”

It’s a bit disappointing however that the songs are only encoded in 128 kb AAC. Also, Passionato says that the box set includes “headphones”, but does not mention the brand or the model. But still, the savings alone is enough if you’re planning on collecting the Bachman’s music anyway. If you’re already sold on this and you want to get it by Christmas, make sure to place your order before December 15.

What I really want, not that anyone cares, is a Bachmobile. But if that’s just a horse-drawn carriage then never mind.

[Passionato via tech digest]

For instance, the RRoD shirt, pictured below, is just $19. The one after that, the Bioshocker, is just $18 – $20 depending on the size.

The Achievement Unlocked shirt also sells for $19, making it a nice and cheap alternative to the honest hoodie, while the Jump shirt shows that we gamers are addicted to better stuff. That sounded really wrong. Anyway you can also get it for around $18-$20 depending on the size.

To my beloved family & friends: I am a gamer and I need a shirt. Feel free to pick from any of the above, or if you’ve bought all four for me already, then hit the link for more. You’re welcome.

Santa’s data-belly capacity ranges from 64MB to 8GB, so if you want to save money you can buy a bunch of lower capacity ones as gifts. Unfortunately the manufacturer’s site doesn’t have prices, but it does say that the disks are covered by a 3-year warranty. Also, worst title ever. I’m sorry.

Man, 3.5-inch disks. I still can’t believe that just a decade after the demise of the floppy, a pocket-sized iPod Nano can hold than 11,378 times more data than a single 3.5-inch disk. How far we’ve come. Still, there was something so tactile about working with floppies back in the day, so I sorta miss them.

Now you can bring back those fond floppy memories with these clever floppy disk gift tags. Edinburgh, Scotland crafter feelfuzzy makes these gift tags from leftover retro 3.5-inch floppy disk labels, adhered to heavy card stock, and hung from a string.

They’re available over on Etsy for $5.50 a pack of 5. Of course, if you happen to have box of floppies lying around, just grab a drill, punch a hole through the corner of the disk itself, and you’ll be just that much cooler when you hand out the presents.
