On some days, the wail of the alarm was enough to set me off. Overdue reports, a thesis to work on, examinations to study for – and the list goes on. If you’re knee-deep in a lot of stuff (be it for school or for work or just personal stuff) and want to somehow relieve yourself of all that early morning stress (albeit in a pretty silly-slash-serious way), then you can do so by shooting up your alarm clock early in the morning in order to keep it quiet.

No bullets involved here, but you do have to point the gun towards the face of the clock to silence the alarm. You don’t need to pull any triggers either, though I wish the manufacturers required you to pull the trigger to shut the alarm off, to make a stronger point, you know.

You can order the geek pocket watch at Uncommon Goods for $85 – ($0 x $1) + $32 -$32 (USD). I only recognize four of the twelve equations/symbols/numbers on this watch, but as I said before, you don’t really need to solve any of them because it’s a freakin’ analog clock; 2 o’clock looks like 2 o’clock regardless of the symbols. I should come up with a digital math clock; I’ll be a millionaire in no time at all. Amirite?

Here’s the square root watch; I guess all that’s left to say is you can get this for $40 over at SkyMall. Also,what is 8:15 in square root time?

Now this, this would be the entrance exam at a Mensa Preschool. It’s made by Triple Nine Society, and while it’s a hell of a lot more difficult than the square root watch, it’s way cheaper at $12.60. It’ll be 9:27 by the time you figure out what 8:15 is with this one.

Of course these timepieces make for fun gifts, but they’re not really really smart or geeky because even if you put the equation for black holes in place of, say, 11, I’d still know it’s 11 because it’s on the upper right hand area of the clock. Upper left hand. Lower left? Can I phone a friend?

A real geek watch would ask you for the time. Solve that.

These cotton knit baseball jerseys from Drew Pearson Marketing feature the strongest of the strong in Soul Calibur. I meant in Star Wars. The Jedi jersey’s number is done in felt applique,while the letters are in tackle twill with satin stitch embroidery. I don’t know what that means but you might. What’s weird though is that the only available  sizes are M, L, XL and XXL. Come on Drew Pearson Marketing. Yoda is XXXS. A bit of respect here.

If you like playing for the dark side, then the Sith jersey is for you. It’s also a cotton knit jersey with all numbers and letters done in felt applique. Both Sith and Jedi jerseys have “official woven loop” Star Wars labels on them. What makes the label official? I don’t know. Trade Federation approval?

The Vader hockey jersey is more Dark Side-y than the baseball one. It has “flaming Vader” graphics, and on the sleeves there are tiny “Sith League” logos set off by metal studs. And on the front is a mugshot of a genocidal man.

Why would a $750 iPod still count as a good deal? Because if you buy the complete works of the Bachman separately, it’ll run you close to $1,500. And that’s without the iPod. Passionato sweetens the deal by including a copy of all of the Bachmusic in the form of 3 DVDs, so even if you lose the Bachpod, you’ll still have your Bachup. Pada-bish!

Also, even with the complete works stuffed in it the iPod still has 63 Gb of disk space left. Just add Skid Row and the Bachpod is truly complete. If you’re already sold on this and you want to get it by Christmas, make sure to place your order before December 15.

What I really want, not that anyone cares, is a Bachmobile. But if that’s just a horse-drawn carriage  then never mind.
