Meka’s Robot Girl May Be the Girl of Your Dreams/Nightmares

The field of robotics has come a long way from the early days. We have built robots that can do any number of things, but what we are still lacking are robots that can truly interact and work alongside humans on a more physical level. However, we are getting there as Meka’s odd robot girl demonstrates.

If you bump into this one, she gives a little. If you tug on her arm, it will give a bit, then pull back, but not in a dangerous way. Push her arm down to get it out of your way and she cooperates instead of resists. This is a ‘bot that might actually be able to do some work or help us work, while humans are in the way around her.

The robot has seven degrees-of-freedom, is armed with high-resolution FireWire cameras in each eye, there’s a zero-backlash harmonic drive gear in the neck, and of course the creepy humanoid movements are all here. The light-up ears are just for emoting. Want One? If you have around $300,000(USD) lying around, she can be all yours.

White Circuit Earrings Let You Flaunt Your Inner Geek

Last week, we saw how girls can show off their gamer sides by putting on some gamer necklaces by Deadly Pretty Design. As a girl who’s really into video games herself, I can say that I definitely can’t wait to get my hands on one of those necklaces. I like the Xbox 360 one best.

If you’re anything like me, then you’ll also want to complement those gorgeous gamer necklaces with aptly themed earrings, like these white vintage circuit earrings that are made from an old circuit board.

I like how a lot of designers are coming up with pieces that showcase geekery at their finest and most fashionable best. You might get a ~~couple of~~ lot of stares from other people who see you with these earrings on. But in my opinion, they’re a really fun and fashionable way of displaying geeky side with a chic vibe.

Silent Hill Nurses Land in Ohio

The Silent Hill video game series always gave me the creeps. There aren’t too many games that made me jump out of my seat at times, but those games always had me on edge. Sure there was Pyramid Head, but they also had those really creepy Bubble Head Nurses starting in Silent Hill 2. These chicks were definitely the stuff nightmares are made of. A couple of them broke out of the institution and showed up at last week’s Ohayocon convention.

For some reason, these girls look a little more sexy than the ones in the game. Maybe it’s that “come hither” body language they’re showing off as they wave around their bloody pipes, or maybe it’s just that the Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio has better lighting than Silent Hill.

Playboy TRON Photo Shoot Released: Geek Fantasy Fulfilled (NSFW)

Here’s two things that don’t usually go together: Disney and Playboy. But TRON and boobies? You’ve just struck the perfect chord among salivating male geeks everywhere. The guys over at Playboy just took wraps off a new feature called GAME ON, which pays tribute to the TRON revival that’s hitting peak velocity this week with the impending release of TRON:Legacy.

The pictorial features models Irina Voronina and Sasckya Porto posing in not much more than their birthday suits, painted with glowing with the ethereal cybernetic blue and orange hues of the world of TRON. If you look closely, you’ll notice that they’re riding those awesome real-world lightcycles from Parker Brothers too.

We’re only comfortable showing a little bit of what’s revealed in the pictorial here, but if you head on over to Playboy’s TRON tribute gallery, you can find plenty more glowing boobies and buns to whet your whistle.

They’ve also got a fully nekkid version behind the pay wall if your hormones are raging and you just can’t take it anymore.

Wear Your Geek on Your Sleeve – Literally

I hate the misuse of the word “literally” but in this case I will tell you that you can literally wear the word “geek” on your sleeve. And you can do it with computer keyboard letters, too.

Etsy crafter pipix whips up these sweet tees. In addition to “geek” you can get N3RD, L33T,, ShiftY, CtrlZ, or even a custom combination (max 5 letters.)

They’re currently sold out, but you can email with your choice for a custom tee. You can get the letters attached to the sleeve or the back just below the neck. Somehow they claim to be machine washable, which seems surprising to me.

You can get them in black or gray, and at press time these were strictly for the ladies. Sorry, guys. Although it’s probably for the best, as I would postulate that while this might work on a girl, whereas a guy would probably just get his a$$ kicked for wearing this.
