Aside from the iPod/iPhone dock, the I931X can play MP3 files over its two 15W speakers via USB or SD/MMC storage devices or through a device plugged into its auxiliary 3.5mm input jack. It also has an alarm clock function. So hip-hop. Thankfully, it still retains its granddaddy’s AM/FM radio function and headphone and microphone inputs. It can be powered via AC, but like all boomboxes it can also be powered by batteries.

Put on your your fingerless gloves and head to Lasonic’s Veentage to order the I931X Limited for €284 (~$366 USD). Or not; it’s currently sold out but the shop promises to have 50 more units available by the end of January. Stuart Hughes, a site that sells extreme luxury items from mobile phones to furniture to homes and liquor, is now peddling the world’s most expensive smartphone at £6,000,000 (or about $9.4 million.) The easiest way to raise the value of a seemingly ordinary object is to dip it in 24-karat gold, stick more than 500 flawless diamonds on it, then store it inside of a solid platinum chest encrusted with rare gems and tiny chunks of bones from T-Rex (I’m serious, that’s what the product page says) and sell it.

And that’s not the only insanely expensive Apple device that Stuart Hughes has in store. He also has a £5,000,000 ($7.8 million) iPad 2 up for sale on the site that has a frame made from “the oldest rock the world has to offer,” Ammolite.

Fantastic sales talk, but I wonder if anyone’s ever going to fork over that much money for a device that retails for less than a thousand dollars? Hopefully, it’s at least the 3G model.

This ridiculous iPhone 4 case makes your smartphone look like it’s made out of solid gold. Or actually 999.9 gold, to be exact. Despite the “Net Wt 1000g” labeling, I’m pretty sure your iPhone will still weigh in at less than 1/5th of that, even with the case on.

I also can’t imagine that the angled corners on this thing would be particularly comfortable in your pocket, but then again, it’s made out of rubbery silicone, and not actual gold. If you’re just dying to show off your extravagant style, you can get the Gold Bar iPhone 4 case over at Strapya World for ¥1680 (appx. $22 USD).

Each one is handmade by Virginie Millefiori, who creates all sorts of cool jewelry, including an entire collection of Invaders-inspired wares. In this particular case, the ring is made from gold-plated brass, then hand-enameled in white to create the pixel effect.

While the ring in the picture above is clearly a different (non-pixellated) Invader, I couldn’t resist posting a picture of a cute girl rockin’ an awesome Space Invaders ring, and showing it off for the camera.  This particular ring sells for $50 (USD) over on Etsy, and it would look great along with a matching pendant, don’t you think? The price of gold has been rising pretty steadily over the past few months. And for those people who are down on their luck or in dire need of money, nothing is impossible. For example, Moran actually thought that it was possible to turn his own poop into gold by putting into an electric heater. All I can say is, if that were all it took to turn human waste into gold then everyone would be trying to poop their heads off – but they aren’t, for a reason: because it’s gross, it doesn’t work, and it can burn down your entire apartment block, which was what happened in Moran’s case.

Unfortunately for him, a judge wasn’t too impressed with his poop-to-gold experiment and has sentenced him to serve three months in jail.

I can’t stomach or justify spending that amount of money on a single meal or iPhone case, but maybe those who were born with a silver spoon in their mouths can. They can also probably dig into this bejeweled dessert that’s priced at £22,000 (~$34,590 USD) without getting an upset stomach – not because of the dessert itself, but because of the price.

This dessert that’s equivalent to the worth of a whole lot of other more useful stuff is actually chocolate pudding layered with biscuit joconde and champagne jelly. The finishing is done with dark chocolate, gold foil leaves, some champagne caviar, and a 2 karat diamond. And obviously, you’re not going to be eating that last ingredient (but if you do, I’ll be sure to check the toilet after you.)

This dessert will break the world record for the world’s most expensive dessert if a patron gives the Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel in Windermere, Cumbria a call three weeks beforehand to order it.

You can buy a few really nice cars, put your kids through college, buy steaks to last you a the rest of your life – or you could blow over two hundred grand for a single meal in a gold lunch box. While about $168k of the value of the meal lies in the 3.3kg gold lunch box, that still makes for over $60k for lunch.

For that amount, you can expect to sample some of the world’s most rare and exotic food, but you get quite a typical selection for your palate in this lunch box: root vegetables, sushi rolls, sashimi, and other rice and meat dishes.

Take for instance this Tata Nano car from India that is encrusted in gold, silver, and jewels. This is the ugliest single Tata I have ever seen. This thing has such little taste that it’s hard to imagine someone whipping out their Tata and allowing this to be done to it. This Tata has copious use of 22K gold with over 80kg of the stuff on the thing and over 15kg of silver.

There are also all sorts of precious jewels adorning the Tata you see here with rubies, pearls, emeralds, and more. That is millions of dollars worth of gold with a price in India where the car was unveiled at 225.17 million rupees for the gold alone. And all that for the most unappealing Tata ever.

We’ve featured Computer Choppers’ exquisite craftsmanship on a pre-unibody MacBook Pro before, but which millionaire in his right mind would want a previous generation golden laptop? It just doesn’t make sense! From what I understand, this time only the case has been coated with 24k gold. The keyboard and trackpad are merely “color matched”, whatever that means. It’s still quite a piece of work though. The company also claims that no special care is needed when handling the golden laptop because the plating is scratch-proof. It’s the opposite of thief-proof though.

Just like the ordinary models that Apple sells for unwashed middle class peons, the 24k gold plated MacBook Pros are available in 13″, 15″ and 17″ versions. Pricing starts at $5,000 (USD), but who cares about that. Have your people call Computer Choppers‘ people so they can work something out.

Kanazawa City’s association with gold leaf dates back hundreds of years; in fact Kanazawa literally means “marsh of gold”. Until today Kanazawa City still accounts for 99% of Japan’s high-quality gold leaf, and the material is used extensively in the city’s crafts. In other words, this flash drive is legit.

And when I say “luxury,” I mostly mean “insanely expensive.”

The silver version of these extravagant phones go for £6,400 ($10,560 USD) while the gold-plated one sells for a lofty £37,000 ($61,000).

Now here’s the kicker: you’d think that for something with that price, you’d be getting a state-of-the-art smartphone that’s equipped with futuristic features that will make your money well worth it, right? Wrong. Because essentially, what you’re paying for is appearances.

Fact is, these Æsir phones aren’t even smart. (What I mean to say is, they aren’t smartphones.) You can’t browse the net with them, you can’t constantly update your Facebook profile or send out tweets, and they don’t even have cameras. But what you can do with these phones is make calls, send text messages, set some alarms, or create a to-do list. In short, the Æsir phone is basic phone with the most basic of functions, reminiscent of the day’s of Nokia’s 5110 (which happened to be the first mobile phone I ever owned.)

Yep, these machines are designed to dispense gold or silver coins and ingots. Designed by Space International [JP], the machines can handle quantities from a gram to 1/4 of an ounce. At today’s prices, that puts the most expensive item in the machines at about $400 (USD). I guess when you look at those pricey Best Buy vending machines, it’s not all that crazy to think that someone might make a purchase out of one of these. That said, I’m not sure why you’d actually need to buy gold or silver on a whim.

The first gold vending machines are being installed in central Tokyo, where there’s little concern about criminals breaking into these. If they had one of these here in Chicago, it would be broken open and emptied in a day. Despite the fact the machine says “SPACE GOLD,” it currently only stocks gold found here on Earth. Perhaps if they did start mining gold in outer space, they could demand an even higher premium.

While it’s form makes it pretty stealthy, the Maharaja borked his own stealthy design by engraving the words “Gun Shop Jodphur, 1948″ on the pen. Kind of a giveaway, don’t you think?

The golden plated pencil-pistol is just one of the many antique weapons that will be auctioned off on June 24 by Holt’s Auctioneers, and is expected to fetch between £700 to £900 (approx. $1,000 to $1,300 USD). The lot also includes the pen’s “its original red celluloid velvet lined display case with makers label, provision for ten rounds of ammunition, a cleaning rod” and papers that prove its heritage.

A 20th-century pistol shaped like a pencil that’s wrapped in gold made by a Maharaja and given to the last Viceroy of India for the price of a MacBook Pro? Now that’s a good deal.

The Apple logo on the back of this sinful monster is made of 22 carat solid gold, and has 25.5 carats worth of diamonds. The whole rear cover is also made from 22-carat gold, and it alone weighs a whopping 1.2 kilograms (2.6 lbs).

Obviously a phone made out of marble isn’t weird enough, so the CPT001 also has solid gold buttons, with a gold mechanical watch at the bottom. The watch has of course a golden crown. The phone is also filled with gold engravings and letters. And the touchscreen? Made from a single large piece of sapphire. I think only the Creator himself is entitled to own can afford can make can carry the CPT001.
