Apparently, there are a lot of us, though, because Cubby was born.

Cubby was designed by Stephanie and Bruce Tharp of materious. It’s a coat hook slash cubby hole that gives you the best of both worlds: a huge hook with which to hang your coats and bags, and a tiny round shelf right smack in the middle to hold all of your other stuff. The idea is so ingenious, I wonder why someone else didn’t think of it sooner.

Cubby is currently up for funding on Kickstarter. A minimum pledge of $19(USD) will get you your very own Cubby, while $47 buys a 3-pack, and $79 buys a 6-pack. And if you can only fork over $5 or $10, you’ll be treated to a thank-you note (and drawing) from the team’s adorable child named Isla Rey.

The problem with hangers, though, is that it’s pretty hard to slide them into place if your shirt or dress or other article of clothing has a teeny, tiny neck hole. Nobody wants to end up with a badly stretched neck hole, so I really appreciate the design that Jaineel Shah came up with for the next generation of clothes hangers.

Using the Pinch Hanger is as simple as pinching its two sides together and sliding it into your clothes. It’s not just helpful when you’re attempting to slide the hanger on; it’s also extremely useful in helping you get the clothes off of the hanger as well.

I think these will definitely help reduce the amount of time struggling to hang your clothes since you don’t have to worry about pushing too much and inadvertently stretching the neck hole to death.

Created by Kolja Clemens of Germany’s MOM, these cool aluminum airplanes are just the right size and shape for hanging up your leather bomber jacket or flak jacket.

While this particular wall of little metal aircraft were created as a tribute to the closing of Berlin’s famous Templehof airport, I really think somebody should mass-produce these for our closets.

Surface Tension’s new hangUP arcade coat hooks use real joystick balls and buttons to hang up all of your coats, umbrellas, man purses and any other hangy stuff you have hanging around.

Coming sometime early this year, they’ll be available in 3UP and 4UP versions. You can pick your own joystick ball colors too. The standard models will ship in black walnut wood, but they’re happy to take custom orders for other materials too.
