Aside from that, it’s also the device they commonly turn to when they’re bored (to play games and stream media) or when they’re lonely (to chat and connect on social networks.)

And the humanized devices are coming, one after the other. First it was the Modai concept phone, and now it’s Sang Hoon Lee’s Heartbeat mobile phone concept. The former is more completely thought-out when it comes to features and how it would work. On the other hand, the Heartbeat phone is basically a phone with a heartbeat.

Thankfully, its heart doesn’t beat to signal that it’s alive, because that would just make the concept creepier than it already is. Rather, the device alerts you to incoming calls, new messages, and other notifications by beating. And not just with the sound of a heart beat, but with actual inflating and deflating action on the surface of the phone.

The heartbeat can also indicate the emotional state of the person on the other end of the line. I’d prefer to have my own actual heart do the beating. No thank you very much to the Heartbeat mobile phone concept.

It’s battery-powered, and it will send your puppy back to dreamland because it acts like part of your puppy’s pack. It’s got a simulated heartbeat, which is what will make your puppy believe that it’s alive (not that much is needed to fool a puppy). It should keep your puppy resting in its crate while you’ll be able to sleep in your bed.

Apple has a new idea for allowing a user to log into future iPhones using biometric sensors that is interesting. The patent app for the feature has surfaced and shows sensors in the iPhone case that would read the users heart rhythm when they pick up the phone.

These heart readings can be used to identify the user and allow them access to the iPhone if approved. There is little info on exactly how the user would be identified, but this is a cool idea assuming it works.

Take, for instance this full-sized replica of Tony Stark’s Arc Reactor heart. It’s a perfect recreation of the original design from Stan Winston Studios, and even lights up just like in the movie.

The prop is made from aluminum and stainless steel for heft, and can be left in either its desktop Plexiglas stand, or can be installed in your own chest to keep away those bits of metal shrapnel that are just dying to pierce your vital organs and do you in. SADS is an abnormality with the electrical system of the heart. Various triggers could cause the arrhythmia, which in turn deprives the brain of blood, causing loss of consciousness and sometimes death. Ellen Mason, senior cardiac nurse at the British Heart Foundation, says that the loud music may have triggered an arrhythmia in Reid’s otherwise healthy heart. That’s the Third Eye camera. Belger says that he made it “to study the beauty of decay.” It’s made of Aluminium, Titanium, Brass, Silver, and gem stones. And a 150 year old skull of a 13 year old girl.

Next up we have the Untouchable. Belger used it to take pictures of people suffering from HIV. Like the Third Eye, the Untouchable is made of several metals, plus HIV positive blood. The uh, blood serves as his red filter. Can’t make this stuff up.

The last camera that I’m sharing with you isn’t on the blogbits list; it’s called the Heart. Belger says that he designed it to take pictures of pregnant women who are at least 8 months pregnant, as well as to study his “relationship” with his twin brother, who unfortunately died at birth. So of course the camera is made of Aluminium, Titanium, Acrylic, Formaldehyde and an infant human heart.

Those of you who know their Photography may have deduced from the pictures that Belger’s creations are all pinhole cameras. Belger says that he prefers pinhole photography because of the unadulterated interaction between the camera and the subject. He designs his cameras with this same goal in mind, of wanting to study and relate to his subject.

That’s right. Leave it to the wacky Japanese to come up with this heart-shaped USB computer mouse that does one thing, and one thing only. It tells you “I love you.”

I’m not sure if it’s a masculine or feminine voice that speaks, so you may be in for a big surprise if there’s some burly guy with a deep voice inside the mouse. Unless, of course, that’s what you’re into.
