The girl in question is Youtuber Frosty Starcraft, and though I haven’t gotten around to playing the game yet myself, from what I know, it looks like she did a pretty awesome job of replicating a little Breezehome located in the city of Whiterun.

It has Alduin the dragon on the roof, what looks like Frosted Mini-Wheat shingles and candy for brickwork, and there’s even a dead giant spider right next to the house. I think she did an awesome job. I’m sure it was as fun to make as it will be to eat.

The point is, I end up with a lot of video of my kids doing weird things dancing around. I bet most parents have a bunch of that stuff too. If you want to turn some of those dancing videos into holiday vids you can share, Reel Doozy is a new iOS app that will let you. The app uses green screen tech to superimpose Santa, elves, or that Keenan Cahill kid from YouTube in the video dancing with you.

Fans of Doctor Who, will be impressed with what they’ve come up with. Their Dalek has all of the right colors for the holidays, and a Santa hat, all made out of LEGO bricks. In total, the family used about 100,000 bricks and 200 hours to complete their jollier than usual looking Dalek for Christmas.

Each year, the Addis family uses a different LEGO themed decoration to feature in their Christmas card. From nutcrackers, to churches, to angels, quite a few have been done in the past 18 years, but the Dalek is by far their geekiest (and greatest) creation.

What you’re looking at here is a Christmas tree, Katamari Damacy style. At least this is what one looks like after it’s rolled up all the ornaments, lights and tinsel from an ordinary tree. Though I’m surprised there are no little elves or tiny reindeer in there, with their arms and legs flailing about. Maybe once the Prince rolls it around a bit more.

This awesomely geeky creation was posted by flickr contributor szy a couple of years back, but it deserves to be a regular geeky holiday tradition, right alongside the Pac-Man Xmas tree, I think.

Jason and Alex from Basement Invaders heard the call, and rose to the challenge with these Mario enemies ornaments. Each one is hand-painted with a famous Mario enemy. I personally like Chain Chomp the best – because he even has a little chain on him.

Even Darth Vader needs a holiday from time to time. After all, there’s more to being a Sith Lord than running the Empire and torturing and killing Jedi. Here you’ll find Darth Vader taking a stroll, going for a surf, using a Segway, and just basically trying to have fun.

Apart from relaxing and sleeping in seedy motel rooms at night, you can expect Darth Vader to take surfing seriously, even if he has to use a white surfboard instead of a more customary dark one.

The game is called Snowball Blaster and it is controlled by a PC which operates 128-channels of lights. The logic for the game is powered by a Basic Stamp microcontroller that controls the red arrows and other stuff. Multiple programs control the attract, game play and crash detection portions of the display.

Rather than simply writing your kids a letter back from Santa, you can do more. Thanks to Google’s Send A Call From Santa service, you can have him call your kids and have him say a few personalized things. There are several selections you can make, so that it sounds like he is talking specifically to your child. If you don’t have kids, there are some great selections in there if you want to send a call to your friends as well.

Some people take decorating their house to a Griswoldian level like the Faucher family in Delaware. These folks hove about a million lights on the house and in the yard. The thing that disturbed me at first glance is the thought of having to take down all those lights and tracking down why that one bulb won’t light up.

Then you think about how much it would cost to turn those lights on. According to HouseLogic the family pays about $686 an hour to run the lights and will rack up a bill of $82,320 over the month. If they went green with LED lights, they could cut that bill down to $10,680.

The theme has a bunch of different wallpapers that are all based on Christmas lights. I really like the one with the decorated tree out in the woods. It reminds me of Rudolph and his pals trekking through the woods looking for people that will accept them.

If you are the boring sort that likes to stare at a fake fireplace, Comcast has seriously upgraded the Yule log watching experience for this holiday season. You can now stare at the fake burning log in full 3D. I might watch it if they occasional showed some 3D boobage too.

I think the only thing worse than actually having to sit on the couch and watch the Yule log burn would be having to sit and watch it burn wearing 3D glasses, and getting a headache while doing it. Cleaning up wrapping paper would be more fun.

ThinkGeek never lets us down in the way of oddball gadgets. Just in time for the holidays is their new TannenBomb Prank Holiday Ornament. That’s right, a prank holiday ornament. This clever little globe has a bit of hidden technology contained within. While sitting in its box, or even lying out somewhere, it looks and acts just like any normal decoration. The fun begins when they hang it on their tree.

The act of placing it on a tree (or a hook) activates a trigger, which tells the device to play one of four random sounds at random intervals. At any given point of a day, people will hear a beep, mosquito tone (ultra high frequency nerve grating sound), a Christmas cricket or an elf giggle.

$11 sounds like a reasonable price to pay for driving your friends or loved ones crazy this holiday season. Heck, it even looks like a stylish ornament, what with the zombies and robots on it. Were it not for the fact that it would bug the crap out of me, I’d hang one up on my tree.

Just like the controllers – which by the way are still available – the ornaments are made from acrylic and come in a variety of colors: red, black, white and yellow.

Really, it’s a fusion of all the things I find wonderful in life: creative cooking, delicious apples, and an altogether different delicious Apple. I bet it sticks to the pie pan. Y’know, so can’t accidentally drop it (crash!) onto the floor.

Chiptune musician Rush Coil has put together this full-length digital album of classic Christmas tunes, rearranged with the inimitable sounds of classic 8-bit sounds of 1980s video games. It’s lots of fun, and Rush tells me it’s “especially useful for annoying house pets and in-laws.” My personal favorite is We Three Kings, perfect for “tried to smoke a rubber cigar” sing-alongs.
