The game comes from artist Lee Moyer, designer Keith Baker, and sculptor Paul Komoda. The playing pieces look fantastic, Paul. They should since this game has been a work-in-progress for nearly 20 years. Now it is finally going to get real because their Kickstarter campaign was a success. (Though you still have about 2 weeks to get in on the action.)

This looks much better than all of those other lame Monopoly clones. Hopefully it will have been worth the wait. Supposedly it plays like a combination of Arkham Horror, with play elements of Munchkin thrown in.

That’s because it’s an effect achieved with the use of Openwound FX’s Garter Legs Prosthetics that make it look like your skin down there is literally hanging off of your bloody knees. What you’ll get is actually a pair of skin prosthetics that you’re supposed to stick onto your gams with spirit gums. The next step is to slather on a lot of fake blood and makeup to make it look like you’ve got two gaping wounds close to the bottom of your thighs.

They’re great for costume parties, cosplay events, or simply to freak people out.

These Gartered Leg Prosthetics are available on Etsy for $40(USD) each. Openwound FX has announced that a fully bloodied and ready-to-wear version would be available by March 12th, although they’ll be for sale at a higher price.

The calendar was made by David Clayton James Gassaway aka daupo. Each month features a photograph of a polymer clay sculpture finished hand-tinted with ink, also made by daupo. The sculptures all allude to tales and figures from the horrific universe.

You can order the 2012 Cthulhu Mythos Calendar from daupo. It costs $21 (USD) for US and Canadian residents, $24 everywhere else on Earth. Shipping to Mars will cost you $8,999. I didn’t make that up.

Modder Omar Majzoub spent over six months of his life and $2000 on this Child’s Play computer, designed to look like a giant Good Guys box. It looks like Chucky already got out of the box, although there’s a mini-me Chucky, Bride of Chucky and Son of Chucky hanging out inside the case too.

Inside the toy box is a system powered by a water-cooled Core i7 920 CPU with 6GB of RAM, 5 terabytes of storage, and a pair of SLI GTX 460 video cards.

So far, the computer hasn’t killed anyone yet, but it’s only a matter of time before it utters something like “We’re friends ’til the end,” and turns on its owner.

Basically, the objective of the game is to drive around your neighborhood in an ice cream truck, and take their orders for delicious ice cream cones. Later, you play Peter Piper and lure your customers back to your lair to turn them into new flavors of ice cream to serve to your next round of victims. I kid you not.

Here’s the official description of the game in case you don’t believe me:

“You are a werewolf. By day, you drive an ice cream truck around the local neighborhood, playing your tune and attracting a base of dedicated customers. By night, use that same tune to lure the addicted townsfolk back to your hideout so you can gobble them up, regurgitating them to make new ice cream flavors before heading to the next town to do it again.”

If you have 3D glasses (the cheap ones with red and blue filters) you can view the game in 3D – just go to its YouTube page. You can download Inel’s game for free at GameJolt. Your PC must at least have Windows XP and a graphics card with Pixel Shader 2.0. For people like me who can’t (or refuse to) play the game, there’s another video on YouTube that shows one of the ways to finish the game.

Modder GivinTats originally did another Alien casemod a while back, and then had someone reach out to him to make a custom mod featuring a gory Chestburster pushing its way out of the side of a poor old 1st gen PlayStation 3.

Since the original movie Chestburster is said to assimilate some traits of its host, GivinTats decided to make him a bit of an alien cyborg instead of a straight-up organic creature. Check out the blood, guts and parts spraying forth from the side of the PS3. Yummy. The broken circuit board coming out of the cracked open case carcass is an especially nice touch – although it would suck if that were the actual circuitry from the PS3 itself.

For something so simple, rComplex is absolutely stunning, from the shine of the backgrounds to the hard lines of the endless stairs. The simplicity, too, adds to the horror; I’m not really sure what that thing is, but that is one scary silhouette.

rComplex is, alas, only a demo for now–and a demo in need of a little polish at that–but this is a game worth watching out for. The concept is as simple as the look: run down the stairs and don’t get caught. There are a lot of stairs. There are obstacles. There’s music, and a voiceover, and enough challenge to make downloading the demo worth it. But do you really need to be convinced after seeing that screenshot? They had me at shiny.

Renegade Kid was very free with video and screen shots from the first title, but they have been largely quiet on the sequel thus far. Feel seems to capture the particular brand of Japanese horror quite well, from the brief look offered in the magazine. Expect creaky, crackling necks and vengeful ghosts, but this time, instead of simply watching, you’ll have an opportunity to scramble around your living room waving a Wii remote in panic. Fun!

Of course, this may all be elementary for U.S. gamers; with Nintendo apparently standing on some other horror game releases in the North American market, I won’t count on this until it’s announced for localization. It’s probably more likely than Fatal Frame was, but… hey, I thought Fatal Frame was a pretty big deal in its own right. Apparently it’s not, however. Is The Grudge, and hence, Feel? We’ll see.

Imagine the surprise of your roommate when they wake up tomorrow morning to find this Blood Bath shower curtain hanging in place of the old one. Whether they think Anthony Perkins came back to life to stab you to death or there was a midnight zombie attack, who cares? Either way, it’s bound to provoke a reaction.

To complete the effect, be sure to mix up some Karo syrup and red food coloring and splatter some down in the drain. Maybe a few drips on the floor, leading to the toilet too. If you’d rather save yourself the mess, you could also pick up this matching bloody bath mat.

The guys over at UK gift maker SpinningHat came up with these sick and twisted things, and I love them for it. I found the shower curtain over at ParamountZone for just £8.99 (appx. $13 USD) – but there’s no word on when they’ll start stocking the matching bath mat.

Per announcements at DICE 2009 and a press release from EA, the game is set for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, though there’s no word yet on release date, gameplay information, or just how demented the sequel will be compared to the original. In fact, all that’s really been said, officially, is that the game is coming.

American McGee himself took to his blog, however, and revealed, at least, a title: The Return of American McGee’s Alice. I’m sure the game itself will be much more creative.

I fear that we will never know the answers to these questions. But what I do know is that vests are the best, and the best kind of vests are Raccoon P.D. vests. And if you like my style, then you will want to check out Ebay veteran masahikox‘ current items for sale.

The first item is Chris Redfield’s vest in Resident Evil: Code Veronica. As you can see it has anti-zombie embroidery at the back, while in front are numerous pockets, perfect for storing 7 green herbs, 6 different guns, 933 bullets and 2 typewriter ribbons.

The vest also has this label that would not make sense at all if you were a member of the RPD, but is nonetheless a neat touch:

Masahikox is selling the Code Veronica vest for €550 ($710 USD). I know, I know: some of you are saying, “Meh. I’d have broken my son’s piggy bank ten seconds ago if that vest was green.” Well your son can kiss his money goodbye, because masahikox (online names = ftw) is also selling a green RPD vest!

Masahikox describes it as the vest that Chris Redfield used in the Resident Evil game on Gamecube, which is a long way of saying that this is the vest that Chris Redfield used in Resident Evil 1. Unlike the black vest, this one is green. It’s also shiny and puffier. Like the black vest, the shiny puffy green vest also has numerous pockets as well as a logo on its back.

Sweet. And it has this “this vest is fo realz yo” label:

Unfortunately, all that shine and puff and green don’t come cheap: masahikox is selling this vest for €700 ($904 USD). To sweeten the deal, he’s throwing this RE shirt for free:

Masahikox says that all three were made by Phantom Tokyo. Masahikox also says that all three of Chris Redfield’s clothes have never been worn, which is kind of obvious since the person who’s supposed to be wearing them is imaginary. But if you’d like to be the next owner of any of the two vests, then you only have until Feb. 21 before masahikox’ sale ends. So go smash that piggy bank! I mean, I think it’s more likely for me to be possessed and crawl down the stairs like an insane, shriek inducing, constipation busting demonic man-spider, or be haunted by a woman from a well, or find myself crying in front of a camera because I’m being chased by something that… okay I’m scaring myself right now. The point is, novelist Joe Schreiber wants to give Bowies Horror in Space another shot, but this time the setting isn’t just any boring place in outer space. Hey that rhymed. Anyway his story is set in a galaxy far, far away.

Of course Schreiber’s not giving away any concrete detail about the story, because he wants fanboys to foam at the mouth until they have mouthfoam beards. Also he doesn’t want to be sued by his publisher. But what he can say is this: “A) It’s going to be very scary and B) It’s hopefully going to be released on the same day that my original horror novel The Black Wing comes out.”

Even though I have only read approximately zero of his books, I can say that Schreiber is a novelist of phenomenal talent. Because while talking about Deathtroopers, not only does he assure us that this horror book – a book that’s supposed to be scary – is going to be very scary, he also manages to plug another one of his books! Wha- how’d he do that? It all happened so fast! I’m kidding. Just having a good time. Let’s hug it out Mr. Schreiber.

No really, seeing as Deathtroopers takes place before A New Hope, I sincerely and pun intendedly hope that the book will add to Star Wars’ convoluted long, prequel-rich, reverse-engineered lore. The cover’s a bit disgusting, so I guess that’s a good start.

Deathtroopers is set to be released in time for Halloween, but you can already pre-order it at Amazon for $8 USD. That should help alleviate the flow of your mouthfoam.
