Apple today released a series of television advertisements which reveal the official release date for the highly-anticipated iPhone mobile media powerhouse. The ads confirm a release date of June 29, 2007, keeping Apple’s original promise of a June launch.

Whoops! CompUSA made a bit of a blunder this week when it advertised a free $15 iTunes gift card with the purchase of any Microsoft Zune 30GB Music Player.
Now if you could only figure out a way to get those DRM locked tunes from iTunes to the Zune, you’d be all set.

Apple today introduced an update to the 2nd-generation iPod Shuffle line by releasing it in four new colors, adding metallic pink, green, blue and orange to the already available silver model.
Like the earlier silver model, the new iPod Shuffles feature 1GB of flash memory (holding about 240 tracks,) a super compact design and a built-in clip to attach it just about anywhere…

Up until now, its been nearly impossible to (legally) use your purchased iTunes music and videos on anything other than Apple’s own gear. According to a post on Tech.co.uk, this may be about to change soon.
The story claims that Apple may be getting ready to announce that they will offer licensing of its proprietary Fairplay digital rights management to Made for iPod licensees…

The Apple iTunes music store is offline this morning, presumably as they get ready to go live with a new store featuring full movie downloads.
It’s likely that the store will primarily feature movies only from Disney (including Walt Disney Pictures, Miramax, Pixar and Touchstone,) with some question about what studios will come on board in future…
