Star Wars Easter Eggs: The Eggpire Strikes Back

How did you guys like your Easter egg hunts? To be honest, I have rarely participated in any, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate some good geeky Easter eggs. Check out this bunch from Flickr contributor smile!mermaid that Star Wars geeks will love.

The collection includes eggy versions of Yoda, Darth Vader, Jabba the Hutt, Darth Maul, C-3P0, R2-D2, and Chewbacca. I think that the Darth Maul and R2-D2 eggs are great, though Jabba’s face is pretty classic.

It must have been quite difficult to paint these eggs with so many details. If you like them, you can probably reproduce these at home, assuming you have a steady hand – and can wait until next Easter, that is.

Jabba’s Palace Bookends: Complete with Carbonite and Leia in Disguise

Looking for a place to put your collection of Star Wars books? While you could grab some of those trash compactor bookends, you might want to put a set of these Jabba’s Palace bookends on another shelf.

Created by Gentle Giant Studios, these bookends feature the pint-size likenesses of Boba Fett, a Gammorean guard and Princess Leia in her Boushh disguise. The Tauntaun taxidermy head is a nice touch too. Of course, the best part is the frozen block of carbonite, enshrouding Han Solo. I only wish that Jabba himself made an appearance.

Each set of limited-edition bookends measures about 14″ (w) x 9″ (h) x 6.5″ (d), and is made from polystone. You can order a set over at the Star Wars Shop for $225 (USD).

Jabba the Snowman

Okay, this is either the most awesome pile of snow ever, or a great Photoshop job. Either way, with 6 inches of snow in front of my house, I plan on heading out into my driveway later today to attempt to recreate this Jabba the Hutt snowman.

I’m guessing that whoever made this thing tinted the snow with food coloring or the dog peed on it to give it that lovely color. The only thing missing is Princess Leia in her slave bikini chained to him. I’m assuming that she melted.

Adidas Jabba the Hutt Shoes: My Your Feet Are Slimy

I love these new adidas shoes inspired by the slimy slug-like body of Jabba the Hutt.

Each pair of adidas Originals Jabba the Hutt Attitude Hi-tops features a shiny, lumpy green finish, complete with green laces, and scaly details on the side of the soles.

The Jabba the Hutt shoes are part of adidas Fall/Winter 2010 collection, which features lots of other great Star Wars accessories. No word on when you’ll be able to grab these, but I’d bookmark the adidas Star Wars shop page if I were you.

Leia Vs. Jabba Star Wars Diorama Will Confuse Your Hormones

From Sideshow Collectibles and Lucasfilm comes this limited-edition diorama of a classic scene from the Return of the Jedi. Okay I actually don’t know if it’s a classic scene or not because I’m not a big Star Wars fan. I don’t even remember this scene; I had to look it up in Wikipedia. Anyway this diorama is a freakin’ conundrum – on the one hand you have the sexy Princess Leia in her slave outfit (that’s a classic isn’t it?). Veeery Nice. Especially the view from behind. On the other hand. 90% of the 7.5″ x 14.5″ x 9″ diorama is a slimy giant slug with one of his eyeballs about to pop out of its socket because the slug’s being choked to death. Boner Shrinker.

Unless of course you have a thing for slimy giant slugs with one of their eyeballs about to pop out of its socket because they’re being choked to death. But if that was the case Princess Leia would just be a distraction. Dammit! Make up your mind diorama! The “You’re Going To Regret This” diorama won’t be released until the 3rd quarter of this year, but you can pre-order it now at Sideshow Collectibles for $225 (USD).

Needle-Felted Jabba the Hutt: Awwwwwww

How do you make a disgusting alien cute? Easy: just replace his slimy skin with wool. Oh and give him a “squezzly bunnybear.”

Flickr pro/proud mom/Jedi Grand Needle Felter Kit Lane imagined that as a child, Zorba’s offspring wasn’t really an evil Hutt. Unfortunately “the unmerciless(?) taunting by his slime mates over his compulsion for plushies” pushed him over the edge (must’ve been quite a push) and forced him into a life of crime. So Kit Lane created this needle-felted wool version of that young, lovable and plushy-loving Jabba. It’s on display right now at the Bear & Bird gallery’s Stitch Wars exhibit, which runs until August 29. You can also check out a few more shots of needle-felted Jabba at Kit Lane’s Flickr page.
