The jacket looks pretty much like a vest, except that it’s got a lot of huge pockets to hold all of that extra stuff that you can’t cram into your hand carry luggage or handbag anymore. Unlike a life vest, this one will help you sink rather than keep you afloat, that’s for sure.

It’s got two big pockets in front to stash some extra clothing, two bigger pockets near the waist for virtually any stuff you want to bring along, and two extra pockets a little further down for the small stuff. I can’t really imagine stashing shoes or laptops in the bigger pocket compartments because I think I’d literally be walking at a snail’s pace by then. While it’s not exactly an original concept, I still think it’s a nice idea to provide some extra storage space for travelers.

Fashionable concept, but it would’ve been a lot better if it physically restrained you from drinking or driving – or moving – once you lit up all LEDs, and won’t let you go until your breath can only light up one or two of the lights.

I personally only saw the Revenge of the Sith, the third episode in the Star Wars series, so seeing this fine-looking jacket motivated me to dig a little deeper into the scene where the Yavin medal made its appearance.

In case you didn’t know, the Yavin medal is a Medal of Bravery bestowed only on the cream of the crop by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

The Yavin medal was presented to Han Solo and Luke Skywalker at the end of Episode IV after destroying the Death Star. Now you too, can walk around proudly with in a spankin’ new jacket with your very own Medal of Bravery hanging on your neck for a not-so-meager sum of $120.10 (USD). It’s originally priced at $275 on Amazon, which just goes to show that even bravery has its discounts.

The keyboard jacket was made by Julien David who attached over 900 keys to it. This jacket is unisex, so it’s also fine for geekettes. Sadly, if you don’t like it or something in your life, you can’t just hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart, or CTRL-Z to undo.

Still, if you want to stand out from the crowd, this jacket will do it. Admittedly, it’s not for the right reasons, but sometimes, any reason will do.

What you need is one of these Electro Amp Parka heated jackets from Columbia. That is assuming you can stomach the massive price of the jackets that can run you up to $900. Yes, $900! You won’t catch me sporting one of these things, but I would bet hunters or outdoors types will gladly spring for one to stay warm.

The jackets have carbon fiber strands inside that feel like thread and conduct the heat needed to keep you warm. The heat is provided by a battery pack that is good for up to five hour of use per charge. The charging is done by that ubiquitous port known as USB.

kyoto_temple_artist is selling a medium-sized official replica of Chuck’s jacket on eBay; bidding starts at $450 (USD). You can also order the jacket straight from Capcom – that way you get to choose the size, and the base cost of the jacket is only ¥26,250 ($312). But I’m not sure how much the shipping will cost, or if the jacket is indeed available for international shipping. Either way, you’re getting an awesome jacket, ensuring that you’ll be dressed to kill if when the zombies arrive.

The thing appears to be a trench coat length jacket festooned with an unbelievable number of pockets (33 to be exact). If they ever do a geek parody of the scene in the Matrix where Neo and company come in wearing jackets packed with weapons, this would be the wardrobe.

The thing has pockets for the iPad, iPhone, MP3 player, glasses, cameras, personal care items like tooth brushes and those tiny shampoos you can get on the plane with and more. The weirdest pockets are so big, they can even hold your extra clothes and shoes. I wonder if you can even walk in this thing – and I can only imagine what fun it will be to get through airport security with one of these fully loaded.

That way if something goes wrong with the tech – like if it gets rained on or something – I won’t be stuck wearing a black jacket in the dark.

Designed by Scandanavian design mavens Junk de Luxe, the shiny synthetic look kind of reminds me of those cheezy old Members Only jackets, only further reinforcing the 1980s theme.

Unfortunately, the only place I can find these is from Trendlovers in Denmark. So unless you happen speak Danish, you may be out of luck. If you absolutely must be kept warm by aliens this winter, you can always pick up a toasty Space Invaders scarf.

The Massage me jacket lets the person giving the massage get their game on while the person receiving the treatment gets to chill out. More intensive massage results in better game play, motivating the masseur to give a good rub down. According to the designer of the device “Otherwise wasted button-pushing energy is transformed into a massage and the addicted game player becomes an inexhaustible masseur.”

Numerous pressure sensors are built into the jacket, converting massage into control signals for a video game console.

Since the jacket really just works in place of a traditional gamepad, it works with many off-the-shelf games. I’d imagine that “button-mashers” like fighting games are best, while first-person-shooters probably wouldn’t work all that well. I wonder if Dance Dance Revolution would work best if you walked on the person’s back?
