The speaker has simple controls, much like the smaller version. A single charge will provide 15 hours of continuous playback. The speaker also includes an echo-canceling microphone so that you can speak with your buddies without missing a beat. The Big Jambox will connect to two devices at once and remember the profiles of up to eight different devices.

The Big Jambox comes in red, white and graphite, and each color has a unique embossing pattern. You can get the Big Jambox for $299(USD) from Jawbone’s online store, and it ships by May 15.

Apparently, the UP has a tendency to not work for some users. Jawbone notes that it has found that there are a couple of capacitors that are bad in some units and affect performance. If you purchased the UP and haven’t been happy with it, Jawbone announced today that it would give you a full refund.

Even better than a full refund, Jawbone doesn’t want the UP back. You can get your money back and keep the product; it’s rare to get an offer like that. Of course if your UP isn’t working, getting a refund and getting to keep the device isn’t as nice as it sounds, since you’re still stuck with a broken gadget. I wonder if Jawbone will fix the device and offer it up for sale again, since it did actually sound pretty cool.

Jawbone has been developing this product for about 2 years, so they expect it to be big. The only problem is the online component of all this health-related data. I wouldn’t want my own medical data in the cloud. I also don’t want Big Brother checking up on me or Jawbone selling this data to the highest bidder (imagine if it finds itself into the hands of insurance companies). Other than that, I can see this being useful for many people. Apparently, the more you wear it, the better it gets. Sounds like it can “learn” as it collects more data about your behavior.

Jawbone hasn’t revealed the price, but it will ship for iOS and Android devices sometime later this year.

Jawbone has a new Bluetooth headset that you can control with motions called the ERA. The thing is very interesting and the headset has lots of features for cleaner audio and a speaker 25% larger than prior models to improve sound quality. The headset uses NoiseAssassin 3.0 technology to cut down on background sounds, and has an integrated accelerometer.

That accelerometer allows the user to take advantage of the MotionX platform on the headset to issue commands. For instance, you can shake the headset to enter pairing mode, or tap it to answer or end a phone call. That is pretty cool. I do wonder if you are wearing it to work out or something if it might accidentally sense impact from running as commands.

The ERA will ship on January 23 for $129 (USD).

The Jambox is a big Bluetooth speaker system that can be connected to any Bluetooth device from the iPhone to computers and everything in between. It allows wireless music streaming, streaming of movie audio, and allows for conference calls all using your mobile device and no wires.

The device can be updated with new apps, software, and features as time goes by and it even has caller ID function for when calls come in. There are a number of voice and language options for users to choose from as well.

Of course, you may need runway-ready styling to pull off that level of excellence, but for the rest of us, the Jawbone headsets look pretty good on their own.

It’s not all about aesthetics, though, and that’s good news, considering these babies retail for $130 apiece. Jawbone’s new brightly colored headsets promise 5x better call clarity in noisy environments. Now if only they could have managed something like slip-off covers so you weren’t stuck with only one color.
