Fancy a free serving or two of Jell-O? Feeling down in the dumps and firing away tweets laced with “:(” at the beginning, middle, or end?

If you answered “yes” to both, then you might just receive a tweet from @JelloMoodMeter with a link to claim your free pudding.

Jell-O’s new campaign is to rid sadness from America, one tweeter at a time. So how does it work? Jell-O has set up a site with the Jell-O Pudding Face that parses through the tweets on Twitter, segregating them as Smiley Tweets or Frowny Tweets. (From the labels themselves, you’d probably be able to guess which kind of tweets go where.)

Now Jell-O has moved its pudding face from Twitter to the real world with the new billboard they’ve set up in Manhattan. Having a bad day? Just look up to Pudding Face and see if the rest of America (who are at home tweeting about their joys or sorrows) are feeling as crappy (or good) as you.

Every time more frowny tweets are detected by Pudding Face, the red button lights up, and you guessed it: someone is scoring some free pudding from Jell-O.

I’ve always wanted to rage at someone and tell them to eat lead. Okay, so that might just be in my wildest dreams, because I don’t think I can pull something like that off – unless, of course, I actually had these gold Jell-o bullets in my arsenal.

I don’t know what Shelly Sabel used to coat the bullet Jell-os she molded, but all I can say is, she’s good. And so are the rest of the people who participated in the 2011 Jell-o Mold Competition.

Shelly didn’t win first prize though. You might be wondering what on earth could outdo these smashing jelly bullets, but apparently, the judges were more partial to Peter Pracilio’s entry, appropriately called Jelly Fishin’.

Check out more entries in the Jell-o competition below. Personally, my favorite from the bunch is the Can of Jelly Worms entry. What’s yours?

There was a show on when I was in first grade called That’s Incredible. I loved that show and I remember this one dude came on the show that could eat glass. I thought if I could do that in the lunchroom I could totally hold hands with a third grade girl that sat across from me at lunch because no girl can resist a glass eater. I still can’t eat glass, but I can put down some Jell-O.

A group of design types going by The Way We See The World have designed a cup made from Jell-O for the annual Jell-O Mold Contest held in Brooklyn, New York. The design looks like those plastic cups we always use at picnics.

The main difference is that these cups are made from Jell-O and when you are done drinking from it, you can eat it. I’m not sure you would want to eat the cups though. The flavors are lemon-basil, ginger-mint, and rosemary-beet. I guess the flavor could have been worse, at least they didn’t choose lime Jell-O.

Strawberries, green jello, apple… and no strong stomach required. For something that shouldn’t be appetizing, this really is. Delicious backfire!

This, though… not so much.

Major kudos for pulling off such a messy–and yet accurate–cake for Left 4 Dead fans. Would I eat it? It looks more like it might be interested in eating me when you get right down to it. Or at least getting a nice grip on my face and then ripping it off. And I’m partial to my face.
