The numbers refer to three of the most common errors that players encounter while trying to play the game. Personally I’ve only managed to play about 15 minutes of the game in two days, not that I incessantly tried logging in for the past 48 hours. To console myself I’m just imagining that no one at Blizzard talks to this guy anymore. They just give him cold stares whenever he’s around.

To the people who say we knew what we were in for: really? Instead of thinking that gamers should have expected this, I say Blizzard should have expected this. They did beta tests. They have experience with server load with World of Warcraft. They have a tally of pre-orders to work with. They have loads of money. How financially disastrous could it have been for them if they over prepared? “Jeez, we set up too many servers, now more people will be able to play. Can’t have that.”

I don’t care what reasons Blizzard has for not including an offline single player mode in Diablo III – DRM, preventing hacking and cheating, more profit from the Auction House – none of those “good” intentions matter if your users can’t play, which, correct me if I’m wrong, is kind of the point of a videogame.

Even building robots that can walk using four legs is complicated, let alone a 75-foot high monster that can carry over a ton. The trick I think is to try and make defense contractors try and build a replacement for a tank that can walk.

An AT-AT can move up to 40mph, carry 40 stormtroopers, and on top of that, an extra ton of cargo. It’s going to take a while, but if it ever does come out, it will reign the battlefield. Honestly, I think it’s just too large and unwieldy. We’ll probably see exoskeletons in the field for soldiers way before this, but I could be wrong. That’s Apple’s other Steve, Steve Wozniak, wearing a shirt that refers to Gray Powell’s infamous blunder. Powell is the now famous Apple engineer who last month went to a Redwood City, Calif., bar to celebrate his birthday but left behind what is believed to be the prototype of Apple’s next-generation iPhone.

Wozniak apparently sent the above pictures to a friend, Dan Sokol, and said that he (Wozniak) would laugh if the same thing happened to him. Yeah, because you’re the co-founder of Apple. Shrewd Woz!

I ran across this Pad-dock iPhone to Tablet converter today and knew right away that it had to be a fake. Click on the buy link and my suspicions were confirmed. The thing claimed to be able to dock your iPhone in the back and show the screen on the larger dock LCD on the front.

This is actually an interesting product idea, and I bet many folks will click it and try to buy it today. I guess if you really want a larger screen for your iPhone, you could always buy a magnifying glass.

Come to think of it, misconcpetualatated does sound more like ol’ Dubya.

It’s a shame that I only saw this shirt today, a few hours before the actual tablet will be revealed (or not). Still, this is proof of how hyped-up this gadget has become. We didn’t see shirts joking about the features of the Zune or the PS3 did we?

The compartmentalized touchscreen will allow users to make and receive a total of four calls simultaneously, take Lomo-like pictures using the four cameras. Since its OS is very, very, very, very similar to the iPhone’s OS, you can run all of your apps and view up to four of them simultaneously! Hell, you can even have four instances of the same app! Twitter addicts rejoice!

I heard from my own Apple outsider that AT&T will sell the four-screen Apple Tablet at a subsidized price of $0.99, but will require users to sign up for an 8-year contract.

For me the funniest thing about the whole prank is the sheer number of balls fired by the robot. But who knows, maybe this will make your day so here’s the video:

If I had the nerdery necessary to build a ping pong-firing robot, I’d hide it in the men’s bathroom and make it fire at anyone who pees. Or I’d aim at anyone who dares fall asleep in the office. Or I’d make it so anyone who says a certain word or phrase gets ping ponged. What I wouldn’t do is simply aim it at someone’s office and have it fire away relentlessly but at low velocities, which quickly devolves the prank to an annoying and awkward event. Unfortunately I’m not a nerd. At the moment I don’t even have an office to go to.

I lol’d at Eau, You Have Cats. DuroSports went the extra mile and even concocted a scandal with the Author’s Guild, obviously a parody of the Kindle text-to-speech snafu. The Guild’s “statement” claimed that the Smell of Books was violating the “olfactory rights” of authors, so DuroSports had no choice but to pull out their aerosols for now.
