Here’s a creative way to preserve that old NES when it finally, finally breaks down: turn it into an arcade stick. A bulky, thick, incredible arcade stick.
Beyond the forest of wiring, this actually doesn’t look as difficult as some of the crazier custom jobs we’ve seen, and odds are most folks have an old and unused…

Now I’m just fine with my DualShock 3 controller, but for those of you out there who prefer their joypads with a bit more character, you might want to check out this Samurai warrior USB controller.

The Joytron Singibigi joystick is pretty unconventional looking for a home arcade controller. Instead of the typical black plastic box that you usually find these joysticks wrapped in, this one has a nice looking wood finish, reminiscent of the control panels on Japanese arcade machines.

The Japanese have managed to create an entire cottage industry out of selling crap you can hang off of your cell phone known as “Strapya”. The latest Strapya: this Street Fighter IV mini arcade joystick.
The tiny controller actually yells out samples of your favorite character’s voices when you pull of their combo moves using the…

I have a very vague memory of playing with one of these Terminator joysticks on my old Atari computer system back in the 80s. I can’t believe somebody managed to dig one of these oddities up.
I found these images over on Klonoaxero’s Flickr page, where he says he recently picked up this suspicious looking…

These arcade joysticks don’t just look gorgeous, they’re actually only one of two wireless arcade sticks I’ve ever seen for the Xbox 360 (the only other one I’m aware of is Dream Arcade’s new Dream Stick).
Handmade by Mekishiko916 of GangsterGamer, each controller features American HAPP arcade hardware, including a hefty joystick, and the 6-button…

Would you sacrifice that second analog stick for an Xbox 360 controller infinitely cooler (probably) than the one you usually use? What if it gave you an advantage? What if it was an Advantage, as in an SNES Advantage? Oh yeah. I bet you’d trade up, too, just like Hifeno did.
Ah, finally a use…

Customizing arcade-style gear has become quite the popular hobby lately, with arcade tables and personalized fighting sticks springing up all over. But sometimes these projects go a step beyond the normal, as with this folding table with an inset arcade controller.
Want to sit down while you play? No problem. Don’t want to hold your…

So maybe you like to play the latest and greatest (arcade) games but you don’t necessarily like the latest and greatest controllers. The answer, clearly, is to build a hybrid monster of controllers to suit your specifications. Alternately, you can wake up as Benjamin Heckendorn, but that seems more difficult.
The mod master took an…

Arcade fans, here’s a great way to keep all your Pac-Man hoodies and Space Invaders jackets organized, instead of throwing them on the floor like you usually do.
Surface Tension’s new hangUP arcade coat hooks use real joystick balls and buttons to hang up all of your coats, umbrellas, man purses and any other hangy…
