Would you sacrifice that second analog stick for an Xbox 360 controller infinitely cooler (probably) than the one you usually use? What if it gave you an advantage? What if it was an Advantage, as in an SNES Advantage? Oh yeah. I bet you’d trade up, too, just like Hifeno did.
Ah, finally a use for all those buttons. Sometimes…

Customizing arcade-style gear has become quite the popular hobby lately, with arcade tables and personalized fighting sticks springing up all over. But sometimes these projects go a step beyond the normal, as with this folding table with an inset arcade controller.
Want to sit down while you play? No problem. Don’t want to hold your stick? Check. Need something stable…

So maybe you like to play the latest and greatest (arcade) games but you don’t necessarily like the latest and greatest controllers. The answer, clearly, is to build a hybrid monster of controllers to suit your specifications. Alternately, you can wake up as Benjamin Heckendorn, but that seems more difficult.
The mod master took an Xbox 360 controller, added a…

Arcade fans, here’s a great way to keep all your Pac-Man hoodies and Space Invaders jackets organized, instead of throwing them on the floor like you usually do.
Surface Tension’s new hangUP arcade coat hooks use real joystick balls and buttons to hang up all of your coats, umbrellas, man purses and any other hangy stuff you have hanging around.…

Jakks Pacific has been cranking out a variety of arcade games you can play on your TV for several years now. But all of their arcade systems up until now included 4, maybe 5 games. Their most recent model, the Arcade Gold game system ups the ante by cramming 8 old school arcade games into a single package.
The Arcade…

The Xbox 360’s standard controller has an excellent reputation, but sometimes you just want the heft and precision of a real arcade joystick. So if you’re looking for a really substantial controller for your 360, Japan’s Hori is about to bring the answer to your prayers.
The new Hori Real Arcade Pro EX is one serious stick, complete with eight…

Remember the ape/monolith scene from Kubrick’s classic 2001:A Space Odyssey? Apparently these apes didn’t get the memo that it wasn’t an Odyssey [console] at all, but actually an Atari 2600.
This imaginative t-shirt by Akron, Ohio illustrator psychoreindeer reimagines that fateful monkey moment with a gigantic Atari joystick in place of the big black slab. According to reindeer, in addition…

Let people know you like to be pushed around with this “Control Me” Atari joystick tee.
While I will admit that the retro video game-themed t-shirt genre is already pretty crowded, I think this particular tee stands out because of it’s rough-edged, hand-drawn graphics and its classic color scheme. Also, like, joysticks and lightning are cool and stuff.
It’s printed…

Fans of the old school Neo Geo console have been getting their fix of their favorite games the Wii’s Virtual Console for a while now. But playing those classic games using a Wii-mote or crummy gamepad controller just can’t compare to the Neo Geo’s original arcade controller.
Now you can have your cake and eat it too with SNK’s Neo…

Can’t get enough of the classic arcade games up on Xbox Live? Then you probably know how miserable it can be to play most of the old school arcade games with the 360’s modern controller. I guess that’s why this one-of-a-kind custom 360 arcade controller has me green with envy.
Created by master joystick builder ShaolinDrunkard, it’s just one of…

I was buzzing about over on Flickr earlier today when I came across this excellent Atari 2600 inspired pastry.
While I normally wouldn’t eat a cake with black icing on it, this one looks too good to pass up. Flickr contributor Fredrick Johnson says the fabulous retro Atari joystick cake was made by his pastry chef friend, Lisa. After you…
