Naruto Medicom Bearbricks: Kage Bearshin no Jutsu

Masashi Kishimoto, creator of one of the most, if not the most popular manga and animé series in recent years, has teamed up with collectible toy maker Medicom to create the Naruto Shippuden Be@rbrick 400% and 100% limited edition toys.

In case you don’t know what the percentages mean, the 400% version is 11″ high, while the 100% version is 3″ high. I think the toys look awesome, although Naruto’s just not the same without his trademark smile. Perhaps Kiba and Akamaru would have been a better fit.

You can order the Naruto x Be@rbrick figures from Brasyna Japan. The 400% sells for about $127 (USD), the 100% for $25, and a bundle featuring one of each for about $152. If you get the bundle you’ll also get a free one month subscription from Crunchyroll, which is like the Netflix of animé.

As with all Be@rbricks, this is a limited edition and will not be re-released. That and Brasyna will only be selling them for 11 days more as of this writing. So be swift, move (your cursor) like a ninja and get one now. Dattebayo!

Iron Man 2 Kubricks: Happy Not Included

Believe it or not, Iron Man 2 won’t be in Japan’s theaters until next month. What injustice! A country that loves robots so much, and they haven’t seen it yet?! But the Stark-starved Japanese might be getting something that the rest of us won’t: Medicom’s Iron Man 2 Kubricks. The set includes the Mark IV suit from the first movie, the Mark V suitcase suit, and of course the powered-by-an-unnamed-element Mark VI.

Also included are the wicked Whiplash and a very unattractive Black Widow.

Fortunately these designs are just protoypes, so there’s still hope for Black Widow. The Iron Man 2 Kubricks will go on sale on November for ¥980 (appx. $11 USD) each.

I still can’t believe the movie is not out in Japan yet.

Watchmen Kubrick Minifigs Put a Smile on Your Face

Stare at the Staremen Watchmen 24/7, thanks to Medicom’s Watchmen Kubrick mini figures. The minifigs are divided into two sets of threes: set A has Nite Owl, The Comedian and Ozymandias, while set B has Dr. Manhattan, Silk Spectre and Rorschach (and his grappling gun).

The Comedian still looks creepy. Nice. Notice also how much bigger Ozymandias’ crotch is compared to his teammates’ crotches.

Each set costs only $19 USD at Entertainment Earth. In case you didn’t know, all of Medicom’s releases are limited edition and are never re-released, so don’t wait too long if you want to have your own Watchmen Kubricks.

Giant Alien Kubrick Will Scare Your Other Toys Away

Alien will always have a special place in our hearts. A place I’d rather not have but is there anyway, a place where the most horrible ideas for creatures are made real, creatures like the facehugger, the chestburster, and the slimy evil main Alien. But I refuse to live a life of fear of non-existent creatures! I shall cast out these pants-wetting mental images of the Alien by looking at its 400% Kubrick version!

It worked! I’m not afraid of 11″ of cute plastic! This alien has a wrench for a second mouth! Haha! You too can be free from alienophobia! Just order the Giant Alien 400% Kubrick toy from ThinkGeek for $60 USD. If you’re still afraid of it, at least you won’t need a space shuttle’s engine to defeat it.

Grand Theft Auto Kubrick Triple Pack on Ebay: the Cutest Gangsters & Criminals You’Ll Ever See

Rockstar’s money-printing Grand Theft Auto series racks up millions because it successfully blends a free & open world with gripping stories; anyone who’s into video games knows how hard it is to find – or make – a game that does good on both counts. Like all good stories – whether in book, video or game format – the GTA series is filled with memorable characters. Although one can’t really say that any of them are role models, these characters have such rich histories and personalities that they make some real world people – like me – seem fiction in comparison. What better way to remember CJ, Tommy and the rest of the GTA cast than owning their Kubrick versions?

Auctioneer arakias is selling a rare, unopened Grand Theft Auto Kubrick triple pack on eBay, featuring 5 characters each from Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas. Yes, GTA III’s nameless protagonist (believed to be Claude Speed from GTA 2) has his own Kubrick.

Honestly I’ve never been able to finish a single GTA game yet, but I want one of these Kubricks. Actually I want all of them. Unfortunately they’re hella expensive: bidding starts at $521 USD, and I think the auction’s ending a few hours from now. arakias claims that only 3,000 of each set was made, so if you miss this auction, you’ll have to do a bit of searching – and spending – to score these kickass figures.

Omega Orion Analog Synth Inspired by Kubrick

When I think of 2001: A Space Odyssey, it usually conjures up imagery of HAL 9000′s glowing red light, the strains of Also Sprach Zarathrustra, and dead astronauts launched silently into space.

But the guys over at Studio Electronics used the film as inspiration for the design of their new Omega Orion synthesizer. From its sleek white and black case design, to the ethereal blue glow of its LED lighting, this 38 pound behemoth of an analog synth is truly a stunner.

Designed by Tim Caswell and Antoine Argentieres, the synth is actually based on the not particularly good (OK, just plain ugly) looking Omega 8, an 8-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer – wrapped up in a retro-future package. No pricing or release date has been announced, but with the Omega 8 retailing for around $4,600 (USD), expect the Orion to set you back at least a couple of mortgage payments.

Has your Xbox 360 ever overheated? Do you dread the three Red Rings of Death? Have I got a t-shirt for you.

Inspired by the demented HAL9000 computer from the classic science fiction flick, 2001: A Space Odyssey, it shows the inimitable RRoD symbol along with the saying “I’m afraid I can’t let you play that, Dave.” The shirt’s designer clearly had just about enough with his 360s crapping out on him, so had to immortalize his frustrations with this clever t-shirt.
