Why Buy a Real Car When You Can Buy a Model Lamborghini for $4.7 Million?

I guess it’s true that money can buy almost everything but happiness. You can buy a $92,000 frog-inspired watch, a bejeweled pen that’s priced at close to a million, and an 11-foot iOS dock with a price tag of around half a million dollars.

But if you’ve got some serious money to blow, then you might want to check out this model Lamborghini Aventador that’s priced at at a cool $4.7 million. That’s no typo; this model car retails millions more than what the actual car will cost you (FYI, the real Lamborghini Aventador just costs $379,700.)

Pictured above and below is Robert Gülpen, who spent 500 hours building the model car that’s encrusted with $2.7 million worth of precious stones and metals.

The 1:8 replica of the Lambo Aventador is being auctioned off by Sotheby’s with a starting bid of €3.5 million (equivalent to about $4,789,000.) If someone bid for my model car at that insane amount, heck, I’d be flashing a smile that’s way bigger than the one Robert’s sporting.

Star Wars-themed Lamborghini Murcielago Goes From Here to Far, Far Away in 12 Parsecs

Okay maybe it’s not that fast, but I dare you to show me geeky car that can go faster than this bad boy. Shane, I see your H-Wing Honda and raise you a Lamborghini Murcielago. The Star Wars-themed vinyl wrap was done by SS Customs for Team Golden Empire.

The Murcielago LP-640 was used by Team Golden Empire in the goldRush Rally 3, which from what I can understand is a luxury rally tour event for high rollers to show off their cars and party in various high-class locations across America. Lamborghini Hard Drive Won’t Make Your Computer Run Faster

After Asus released some Lamborghini laptops, it’s time to make more money off the Lambo name by releasing some USB hard drives. While the enclosure looks nice enough, it’s by no means the fastest or biggest drive out there.

The USB Lambo hard drives come with 5400 RPM drives in the USB 2.0 flavor and 7500 RPM in USB 3.0. They are offered in 500GB and 750GB versions, which is a bit small for external drives these days, even for 2.5-inch drives. They’ll cost $140 and $190 (USD) respectively for the 5400 RPM USB 2.0 version. No pricing details for the USB 3.0 version.

They seem a bit overpriced, especially when a 2TB WD MyBook sells for $140 or a similar form factor WD My Passport SE for $113, which works with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. I honestly wouldn’t buy an external hard drive without a fan these days anyhow. I had one fail on me (LaCie 2.5-inch), and since then, I always buy an enclosure with a fan for a 3.5-inch Western Digital hard drive. Naturally, these drives need to be plugged in.

Amphibious Lamborghini Takes to the High Seas

At first glance, I thought this seafaring sports car was the underwater Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me. Much to my amazement, it’s a real amphibious Lamborghini Countach built by Mike Ryan of SeaRoader.

Price: unknown, but if you have to ask, you probably can’t afford one.
