I was digging around looking for something totally unrelated today, when I came across these nifty color-changing LED lamps from Lumenworks.
Rainbow Star lamps are minimal, modern lighting fixtures, which can be set to any of 7 different colors. You can toggle between solid colors, or set the light to gradually cycle between hues…

It’s amazing what a difference a couple of decades makes. Back in the 1970s, fiber optic lamps were some of the ugliest, tackiest things you could possibly bring into your home. And as this photo proves, fiber optics can truly be used for evil. Thankfully, tastes have changed, and the dynamic illumination medium has found new life in this modern lighting fixture…

Affirmative. Yes, affirmative. I must have a pair of these metallic robot lamps flanking the sides of my bed.
With a retro style reminiscent of a 1950s robot movie (or Jemaine and Bret dressed in tin foil wrapped cardboard boxes depending on your point of view), these nifty bedside lamps are actually made out of ceramic with a metallic silver coating…

Created for Spain’s DAB Light Works, the bulb-shaped Dear Edi (a nod to Thomas Edison) lamp is actually made from metal, not glass…

The guys who designed this LEGO block lamp managed to dig up some sort of industrial-strength blocks that won’t melt into a pile of smelly goo when subjected to the heat of a lightbulb.
What makes the Block Light really cool is the fact that you can rearrange the pieces into pretty much any configuration you’d like…

This funky modern lighting fixture might be named for its umbrella-like shape, but to me it looks like some sort of alien jellyfish is about land its spacecraft in your living room.
Created by French furniture designers Beau & Bien, the Smoon Ombrella lamp gets its sculptural potato chip-like shape from custom cut Plexiglas…
