I don’t care if this lamp conjures up memories of my colonoscopy. It’s still cool.
The undulating twists and turns of Kundalini’s Abyss table lamp may look a bit like your intestinal tract, but there’s something about the bendy organic form that I find mesmerizing.
The Abyss can be adjusted into a variety of shapes, thanks to its flexible segmented construction…

I was digging around looking for something totally unrelated today, when I came across these nifty color-changing LED lamps from Lumenworks.
Rainbow Star lamps are minimal, modern lighting fixtures, which can be set to any of 7 different colors. You can toggle between solid colors, or set the light to gradually cycle between hues…

It’s amazing what a difference a couple of decades makes. Back in the 1970s, fiber optic lamps were some of the ugliest, tackiest things you could possibly bring into your home. And as this photo proves, fiber optics can truly be used for evil. Thankfully, tastes have changed, and the dynamic illumination medium has found new life in this modern lighting fixture…

The Retro Cube Stereo Speaker and Mood Light, in theory, brings the latest in LED and rhyhmic technology to an old familiar shape. In reality, however, it’s more like an unholy marriage between a Rubik’s Cube and the Saturday Night Fever dance floor.
This is a speaker that flashes its LEDs in time with your music, and looks like a fake Rubik’s Cube on a stand…

Affirmative. Yes, affirmative. I must have a pair of these metallic robot lamps flanking the sides of my bed.
With a retro style reminiscent of a 1950s robot movie (or Jemaine and Bret dressed in tin foil wrapped cardboard boxes depending on your point of view), these nifty bedside lamps are actually made out of ceramic with a metallic silver coating…

The Lite-Brite is one of my fondest childhood toy memories. Maybe it was the fact that it was THE original way to make pixel art. Or maybe it was the “living on the edge” thrill that any minute I could choke on one of the of hundreds of tiny candy-like pegs. Delicious…

I’m a sucker for robots - and I love cool lamps. So when I saw these cool robotic sculptures that light up, I just had to write about them.
Handcrafted by Pennsylvania artist Toby Atticus Fraley, these robot sculptures are assembled from vintage found objects (aka “Junque”), and lovingly reconfigured by Fraley to form one-of-a-kind artworks…

This modern, minimal lighting fixture from designer David Abad takes queues from a traditional incandescent lightbulb, but the resemblance is only skin deep.
Created for Spain’s DAB Light Works, the bulb-shaped Dear Edi (a nod to Thomas Edison) lamp is actually made from metal, not glass…

The guys who designed this LEGO block lamp managed to dig up some sort of industrial-strength blocks that won’t melt into a pile of smelly goo when subjected to the heat of a lightbulb.
What makes the Block Light really cool is the fact that you can rearrange the pieces into pretty much any configuration you’d like…
