Simpsons Arcade Game Hits Xbox LIVE Doh!

You probably wasted way too many quarters at your local arcade playing the Simpsons Arcade Game back in the day. I know i did. This side-scrolling arcade game was a must play and if you missed out, never fear, the Simpsons Arcade Game is now available on Xbox LIVE.

That means that you can experience this Simpsons fun on your XBox 360 for 800 Microsoft points. At least you won’t be popping in a quarter every time you play. Up to four players can play at once and it should be just as fun now as it was back then.

The idea is that you are chasing Smithers and Mr. Burns to save Maggie as you battle through eight familiar Springfield locations. Are you guys going to buy this one? Let us know in the comments.

Libratone AirPlay Sound System: Stylish Airplay Stereos

Libratone has released some new AirPlay-compatible speaker systems for you iPad, iPhone and iPods. The brand is pretty popular in Europe, and they’ll soon be launching some AirPlay-enabled sound systems in the US. Their products aren’t cheap, but they’ll fit into a modern pad, and they’ll probably please users who like minimalism.

There are two models, the Libratone Live and the Libratone Lounge. Thanks to Apple’s AirPlay, users can stream songs from their iTunes music libraries, on either a Mac or PC, to the stereo. This will also work on iOS devices via a Wi-Fi network. The Libratone Lounge is the larger version, while the Live is the smaller one that can be moved around.

You can choose a few different colors, from slate gray, blood orange, lime green, black, and vanilla beige to match your surroundings. The Libratone Lounge starts at $1,299 (USD) while the smaller Libratone Live sells for $699.

Youme Will Let You “Control” Real People in Real Time

A company called DomsNetwork will launch a weird amalgam of servants and gaming with their Youme platform. Basically customers, the you, can send requests to a character, called a me. Yous can select mes based on “several demographic fields such as age, location, sex, height, weight” and so on. The request can be anything – talking to people, playing a game, going somewhere – as long as it doesn’t require you “to break the national laws of your country, or put you in danger.” The mes will be equipped with a bluetooth headset to receive instructions and a camera to stream footage to their yous. If you ask me, I wouldn’t want to be a me. I just don’t think this will work.

Obviously if you want to be a you you’ll have to pay a fee, and as a me you’ll take a cut from that fee. But as I said, this concept has so many things going against it. For one, they’ll have to put a price on all requests, which, going by their definition, have infinite variations. Also, once you’re under contract as a me, what if you’re given a request that isn’t illegal or dangerous but is humiliating or painful (but not lethal, like say slapping one’s face 5 times)?

Would you want to be a you or a me? Will there be a we? Will there be us vs. them battles? Will there be hes, shes or its? Is this the best or the worst idea ever?

The Next 10 Xbox Live Arcade Games

Microsoft today announced what’s in store for the Xbox 360′s Live Arcade download service, and it looks like there’s some pretty good stuff coming down the pike in the near future.

Here’s a list of the games that we can expect in the coming weeks and months (release dates weren’t specified):

3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures, from developer Wanako Games and publisher Sierra Online, allows gamers to putt their way through 36 fun-filled holes of manic mini-golf action on wild courses that range from the Old West to outer space and feature a bevy of crazy hazards and obstacles.
Alien Hominid HD from The Behemoth features side-scrolling, hysterical cartoon action with a quirky twist and exclusive Xbox Live Arcade features.
Band of Bugs from NinjaBee is a fast-paced tactical strategy game that offers gameplay deep enough to satisfy tactical genre fans and friendly enough to appeal to casual gamers. Creative gamers can even design their own levels with the built-in level editor, then play them solo or over Xbox Live.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night from Konami is a faithful version of this legendary classic updated for Xbox Live Arcade and featuring the game

Dead Rising Live Action Video: Classic

The live-action video game troublemakers over at Mega64 has posted this great video inspired by Dead Rising:

Titled “Welcome to Willamette Mall,” it’s a must see for anyone who’s played the Xbox 360 hit zombie action title. It perfectly captures the whole photography element of the game, but I have to say I wish that it included some chainsawing of people in giant LEGO head costumes.

While you’re over at Mega64′s place be sure to check out their other clips. I particularly enjoy the Katamari Damacy and Shenmue videos. Classic.
