These ear plugs were made by deviantART member Marcus Hermansson. For those of you interested, unfortunately he’s not interested in selling them. Maybe you can one-up him and plug actual parts from consoles into your lobes. +1 if you can fit an entire console in there.

The Karts were made to celebrate the launch of the new Mario Cart 7 game which will arrive in December. The two Karts are Mario’s Standard kart with glider attachment, and the Luigi Bumble V kart, which has a rear propeller for underwater fun.

These things are awesome. I just want to see real Mario Kart races on our highways now. I’ll be the one wiping you out. If you want to win one of these awesome karts, you just need to be a member of GameStop’s PowerUp Rewards program, and make a purchase or trade in during the month of December. These Karts will be shown off on an upcoming episode of Inside West Coast Customs that will be aired in 2012.

I think my favorite button-eyed Becky character is Sonic. No it’s Link. Nah, Bub and Bob! Wait it’s Pikachu. Screw it, they’re all my favorites. I can keep all of ‘em anyway. I would wear the crap out of a button-eyed Pikachu T-shirt though.

Actually, I just made that team name up. deviantART member Casey Edwards aka basicnoir simply knows them as some of his wonderful illustrations. I would’ve pegged Beast as the obvious choice for Donkey Kong, but he does make for one mean Colossus. And who knew Diddy Kong had an uncanny resemblance to Nightcrawler?

Damn that’s nasty. Kodykoala used a 6″ vinyl figure to make Zombie Luigi, making him 4″ smaller than Mecha Luigi. Check out the back view in the gallery to get a peek at Luigi’s brain.

You can bid for Zombie Luigi at eBay. As of this writing, the starting bid is a mere $0.99 (USD), but I’m sure the price will still go up before the bidding is over, especially when the person who bought Zombie Yoshi finds out about it.

As with his Yoshi and Mario Mechs, KodyKoala used a 10″ vinyl Luigi figure as his base. He said that he also used some LEGO bricks, although I can’t see where those bricks are. Perhaps they’re the monitors inside the mech.

The hinge is a nice touch. You can bid for the Luigi Mech on eBay; as of this writing the minimum bid required is $10.49 (USD), but surely the price will go up for all this work. KodyKoala says this might be the last of his custom action figures, unless Nintendo releases vinyl figures of their other characters, so better bid for this now if you’re interested.

The Street Fighter ones by infinitecontinues which inspired Nick to create his ain’t half bad either. See if you can name them all…

Each pair is lovingly hand-sculpted from polymer clay by Patricia of Charlie Carter Creations. They feature the slightly bulbous, cartoony heads of your favorite little plumber brothers, each attached to a silver-tone adjustable ring. For some reason, their googly eyeballs remind me of Marty Feldman more than Mario or Luigi, though.

The pair is available over at the artist’s Etsy shop for $20 (USD), and they take about a week since each one is made to order. And if you don’t have a best friend, you could always buy the set and hog them both for yourself.

It may just be me, or the black DSi shining through, but it really looks like Mario is slamming his head into Luigi’s eye, and that’s just taking things kind of far, don’t you think? Whatever started this, it must be serious business, because both brothers are wearing murder-faces. They really look sort of monstrous. Perhaps this custom DSi is a statement about the beast within, and how we can release that negative energy through the power of video games.

Or, it’s just a cool picture to paint onto a DSi.

Oh snap! It brought friends! Other tiers – connected, naturally, with pipes – and little molded turtle shells, and even Wario, Toad, and Luigi!

This particular cake is so detailed and elaborate that other cakes may be embarrassed to show their faces today. In the end, however, I think this cake loses out – barely – to efforts like this, with its handmade figures of Toad, Yoshi, and others. It’s a close race, though.

Looks like this little guy is sold out of Michelle Rheaume’s Etsy store (and can you blame whomever bought him?), but there’s a (non-costumed) Luigi available, and patterns for all sorts of Nintendo characters–including a Boo that is so cute I’m not sure he’s actually meant for human eyes.

Pretty impressive papercraft on the face… and even moreso when you realize that the accessories–the hats, the bows–are all individual pieces. Move ‘em around as you will. But leave the mustaches alone.

The plumbing pair looks pretty snazzy against that blue background, but the simplicity of the white handles on the undecorated front side really make this dresser stand out. This project, made lovingly by a father for his toddler son, took several months and was documented on the Sprite Stitch forums. When Semifrank began work on the dresser, he wasn’t even sure where he was going with the design. No plan, no problem–the end result turned out great.

Here’s the dresser at various stages. Keeping that baby away from the project space and materials had to be fun, and by fun, I mean a potential nightmare. But the end result? Completely worth it.
