This mini PC is called The Aerodyne, and it’s supposed to evoke the look of classic streamline trains and skyscrapers like The Chrysler Building. For what it’s worth, the Aerodyne definitely looks more attractive than the typical plastic or metal computer cases we see these days.

The Art Deco influenced Aerodyne was created by Jeffrey Stephenson. The system is built around a Mini-ITX form factor PC, so its footprint is pretty small. The mini PC doesn’t have a fan to keep things compact, and is made out of mahogany and aluminum. Inside, it has an Intel Core i3 processor, an integrated Intel HD3000 graphics processor, a 256GB Crucial M4 SSD hard drive, and 8GB Crucial DDR 3 RAM. While those aren’t top-of-the-line specs, they’re still pretty solid for a compact machine like this.

Like what you see? Jeffrey is considering making a small run of 10 units of the Aerodyne, but he hasn’t announced pricing. If you’re interested, you can contact jeffrey[at]slipperyskip.com.

Want a truly unique Xbox 360? Modder The Longhorn Engineer has an offer for you. For the right price, he’ll build you a portable Xbox 360 Slim – out of WOOD.

And he’s not messing around. This guy has serious wood modding skills, having built everything from wooden Nintendo portables to Atari 2600s. This as-yet built Xbox 360 Slim Woody laptop will be built from a solid mahogany wood case, along with aluminum accents.

So what’s the catch? It’s all about the Benjamins, guys. He says in this post over on the Ben Heck Forums that he’ll do the deed for $3500 (USD) of your cold, hard cash. The lucky winning bidder will get a 3D render of the case before he starts the build to ensure that you’ll like the final design, and he thinks he can rock it out in time for Christmas. So if you’ve got the dough, head on over to The Longhorn Engineer and drop him a note.

Long before the recent trend of strange digital timepieces that tell time in binary or in some other cryptic fashion, a little electronics company known as Heathkit made this fun LED clock that told time using Roman numerals.

Back in the late 1980′s this Roman numeral digital clock sold for about $169 through the Heathkit catalog. The clocks featured a solid mahogany case, and a display comprised of 177 bright red LEDs that display the current time.

Now you can own one of these great retro clocks for yourself. The guy who used to supply them to Heathkit now has one of the originals for sale on eBay for just $115.

If you want it, you better grab it fast, since the auction will be ending in just a few hours at VII-XXXVIII-XXVII Pacific Time.
