I know that the Pokémon slogan is “Gotta catch ‘em all”, but I didn’t think that included women. Check out how one clever geek proposed to his girlfriend.

Apparently they both enjoy the Pokémon card game, so he made a special card and attached a ring, though I’m not sure how he fit it in the deck. There isn’t a whole lot of info aside from that, but you gotta love his style.

I’m just hoping this little fiasco doesn’t include catching her in a Pokéball afterwards, for her sake. I’ve never played the Pokémon card game myself, but 150 HP? Does marriage half that? Anyhow, if you ever want to marry your card gaming partner, this is the way you do it.

Robot Weds Couple in Japan

Yep, you heard it right in the headline. Tomohiro Shibato and Satoko Inoue were married this morning in a ceremony conducted by a robot. Not just any robot. One named “i-Fairy”.

I’m not actually certain if a robot can be an officiant at a wedding, but maybe they are legal in Japan. They are more technologically-advanced than most countries after all. Next up, robotic divorce attorneys.

A Man and His Video Game Girl: the Love Plus Marriage

If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not Love Plus is a decent dating sim, wonder no more: one guy thought it was so good he actually went and married it. Or her. Her being one of the game’s virtual girlfriends, Nene Anegasaki.

Ah, what a sweet young bride. So… uh… animated.

The thing that sets Love Plus apart from other dating sims of this time is that it revolves around actual interaction of this type… it’s just that I’m not sure anyone expected someone to take it to this extreme. With Love Plus, as soon as you get the girl, you’re supposed to take her out and engage with her in the real world. As in, you take her on dates, where she probably eats as much as a real girl (but at least she costs less).

The proud new groom is planning a reception for November 22. He has invited the media to attend, so I’m sure there will be lots of interesting footage to check out. I wonder if anyone is going to ask him how he feels about all those other Nenes out there with all their boyfriends.
