Diesel Watch has No Face, Still Manages to Tell Time

At first glance at this dramatic designer watch from Diesel, you might ask yourself where the heck the time is hiding. Then, you might take a second to think and guess that maybe you press a button for the time to show up behind the polished black faceplate – and then you’d realize there are no buttons.

Stumped? Well turn your wrist sideways, and then look again.

Instead of telling time on its face, the Diesel DZ9044 features a set of tiny side-mounted watches that can simultaneously tell time in four time zones. While the location of the watch faces isn’t all that practical, it’s certainly a stunning design.

The watch is constructed from durable solid stainless steel with a bold black ion-plated finish and a matching black leather band, and is water resistant up to 10 ATM (about 330 feet). And if black isn’t your thing, check out the DZ9045, which comes with a shiny stainless face and a brown leather band.

Diesel OLED Watches Offer Dual-Color Text Display

A while back, I showed you guys a pretty cool looking OLED watch from the fashion house of Diesel. That model was especially difficult to come by, and featured a tiny little monochrome blue OLED screen . The latest digital watch from Diesel amps up the organic light emitting goodness by adding a second color to the display.

The Diesel DZ7086 mens’ watch features a bright dual-color screen with both blue and green OLED phosphors. In addition to displaying the time in traditional numeric formats, it can display a text version (i.e. “Eleven Twenty Seven”), along with four different on-screen animations when you press the appropriate button.

The modern digital watch comes housed in a black plastic case with stainless steel lugs at each side. The black wristband is nicely crafted from leather, and in case you plan on banging your new watch around a bit, the display is protected by a durable, scratch-resistant mineral crystal face.

List price for the DZ7086 on the Diesel website is $150 USD, but you might be able to find a better deal with a little digging over on Amazon.

Nixon Answer Watch for the Life Aquatic

Here’s a new digital watch I thought really stood out from the crowd. Nixon’s Answer watch comes in a couple of colors, but the bright blue and white one pictured here really caught my eye.

To complement its swimming pool blue case (they call it Sky Blue, but I know better), the Answer features a aquatic blue-backlit LCD screen. And it’s not just the color that makes me want to dive in. The watch is waterproof to 100-meters, so you really can take it into the deep end.

If for some reason, blue isn’t your thing, the watch is also available in a yellow and grey combo which conjures up images of deep sea diving gear, and a simple black design too. All three styles are available from Nixon for $75 each.
