Modern Mickey Watch: Who’s the Leader of the Club That’s Made for L.E.D.?

Geeks who also happen to be fans of Mickey Mouse might enjoy telling time with this modern watch, which uses the head and ears of the famous cartoon mouse to display the time.

While I’m 1000% certain that this thing isn’t official Disney merchandise, it definitely captures the iconic mouse-head and conveys a strong sense of Disneyana on your wrist. It tells time using 33 LEDs arranged into three rings. Not-Mickey’s head shows the current hour, while left ear displays single minutes, the right ear displays tens of minutes. It also displays the date with a press of the button.

While the build quality definitely looks suspect, and Disney’s lawyers might come knocking on your door if you wear one, it’s actually not a bad looking watch.

The best part of course is because it’s a cheap, unlicensed Chinese gadget is that it sells for just $7.35 (USD) over at VKAmobi, so if it sucks, you won’t feel like you flushed too much money down the drain.

Mickey Mouse Prime: Mickey Goes Transformer

If you ever thought Mickey Mouse would be infinitely cooler if only he could transform into some sort of vehicular transport (and fight the Decepticons), then your dream is about to be realized with this Transformer Mickey.

I never knew something could look so innocently badass. Surely the world is spinning toward an explosive end now that we’ve seen a merger between Mickey Mouse and the Transformers. TransMickey (not the figure’s name, and thank goodness for that) comes in two flavors: the above, and a more monochromatic version, both of which will be out in the next few months in Japan.

As interesting an idea as the mashup may be, potential customers rating the forthcoming toys seem less than impressed with the idea. When something may be a little too strange for Japan, it might be time to step back and re-evaluate the idea.

Akashi: Mario and Mickey Mouse Melded

I never thought I’d have a reason to write about Mario and Mickey Mouse in the same article again. Go figure. This strange character imagines what would happen if everyone’s favorite video game plumber stepped into the teleportation chamber with the world’s most famous four-fingered rodent and got all BrundleFlied.

Created by sculptor Dave Bondi, AKASHI is the ultimate mashup between Mickey and Mario. There’s something just so wrong it’s right about Mickey with a mustache.

The 9-inch tall vinyl toy is available in a limited edition of just 250 pieces, and can be found over on UrbanRetro for £$43.99 (appx $65 USD).

I’m pretty sure that neither Nintendo nor Disney would approve, but I do – and isn’t that all that counts?

Mario + Mickey = Super Mousio Brothers?

Have Disney and Nintendo partnered up for a a top secret new game? Naw. But the guys over at Siliconera managed to snap this great photo of Mickey Mouse dressed in Mario garb in a Japanese arcade.

I suppose that this is what things would look like if worlds collided between the Mushroom Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom.

For some reason, I’m betting neither the Big N nor the house that mouse built endorsed this display. I wonder what Minnie would have to say about Mickey’s newfound interest in Princess Peach.
