Griffin has been selling some interesting little remote control helicopters for a while. The little helicopters are controlled by iOS devices such as an iPhone or an iPad. I’ve used them before and I can say that they can be difficult to control. There is something appealing about flying toys that can put out your eye and chop off your finger at the same time. Actually, you’d have to try pretty hard to cause such a serious injury with one of these.

The latest helicopter launching from the company is called the Helo TC Assault and it looks like a small Apache helicopter with red missiles on each side. You control the helicopter using the app and can fire the missiles at the press of a button. That app allows you have touch to steer or till to steer controls. You can also record and store three flight plans to make it route around obstacles automatically.

Griffin even offers downloadable accessories that you can print to give yourself something to fire at when you play. The Helo TC Assault helicopter is available right now for $59.99(USD).

USB sticks come in a variety of shapes and colors, but this is the first one I’ve seen that looks like a miniature missile. The retro packaging and allure of this flash drive is what makes it really cool.

H-57 is the Milan-based advertising company that was behind those cool typographical Star Wars posters. They’ve come up with the Intercontinental Ballistic Design Missile, which is of course, a wordplay on ICBM. The design is pretty interesting, and it must be funny to have something like this sticking out of your USB port.

It’s definitely an fun spin on USB flash drive design. I just wonder if this is a real product or just a one-off promotional. It probably won’t take long for some company in China to make some knock-offs. Hopefully, those ones won’t actually blow up your computer.

A while back we featured a video of the versatile Tomy i-SOBOT shooting at a bunch of rectangular sponges with a bow and arrow. It turns out that the hurting didn’t stop there, as YouTube user paxshikai eventually came up with an armory’s worth of custom weapons for his/her robot, including a gatling gun.

You’ll never guess what its last weapon is. Brace yourself for 5 minutes and 11 seconds of increasingly absurd weaponry and dinosaur slaughter:

The music was so bad but somehow it made the video much more awesome. And now I can’t get the stupid guitars out of my head. You can still find the Tomy i-SOBOT at Amazon for $250 (USD), which incidentally is $50 more than its price when we featured it almost 2 years ago. Weapons not included.

It may not have a classy or intimidating name, but I’m sure that robots speak of the HAROP loitering munition with great respect – or perhaps fear - when they… get together for, um, poker night. Israel Aerospace Industries’ bad boy is a remote-controlled, unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) that can be deployed from a mobile launcher. It can be fitted with steerable color or infrared cameras so that it can provide recon. But the creepiest thing about the HAROP – also called Harpy 2 – is that it can hurl itself at a target, setting off 50 lbs of onboard explosives in the process to make sure that it kills the target dead, while minimizing collateral damage.

The HAROP can stay on air for up to 6 hours, plenty of time to select a target within its 620 mi range. So you can deploy it from another city way ahead of time, and have it wait for a target to come out or pass by, then BOOM. Haropped.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

I do not want to die that way. If you feel the same way, then you’d better not piss off India or Germany in some royal manner, because both countries recently bought a bunch of HAROPs.

Ever wanted to annihilate your annoying office-mates? Tired of your boss giving you crap? Well you can now put an end to all that with the $54.99 USB-controlled desktop missile launcher.

The rocket launcher fires soft foam missiles from a software-controlled platform that can rotate and tilt to aim at your target up to eight feet away. Currently, the software is for Windows 2000/XP only, but it’s already been hacked to work from a Mac or Linux as well.

The only downside, USB doesn’t appear to provide sufficient power to launch the rockets, so the launcher requires three AA batteries.
