Knorreck reportedly spent 10,000 hours and €15,000 (approx. $22,300 (USD)) to build this one of a kind vehicle. The Snafell is a combination of a Laverda motorcycle which Knorreck bought in 1976 and had already modified to be a sport bike, and the custom-built carbon fiber and polyester sidecar. The sidecar’s parts were culled from various automobiles, including a Volkswagen Golf GTI,  a Citroen Xantia and an Audi 80.

The Snaefell – which incidentally is also the name of three volcanoes in Iceland – is powered by the Laverda’s 1000cc engine. I barely know anything about vehicles, so I don’t know if the triple exhaust is necessary, but damn if it doesn’t add to the quirkiness of this ride.

The sidecar has a gull-wing door and has a car seat, complete with seat belts. Say what you will about the Snaefell, but it’s sidecar might just be the most comfortable and safest one on the planet.

There should be more pics at Knorreck’s website, I just don’t know for sure because Internet fame has brought down the site. I really want to see it in action! Man this thing is weird.

This ridiculous mod combines an old G4 with the guts of a tiny motorbike. The MOTO G4 “BURAN” can hit a top speed around 30+ miles per hour. It’s got front and rear disk brakes, and a windscreen made from a hacked up original Apple Pro keyboard.

Apparently the Buran is just the first vehicle created for the new MOTO G4 “extreme sport”, which involves turning old G3 and G4 cases into high-speed deathmobiles.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t figure out a way to keep the computer functional. I think it would have been cool if they figured out a way to do that, and mounted an LCD monitor into the handlebars. Maybe they can do that for the MOTO G4 2.0.

God, that seat looks uncomfortable.

According to gizmag’s Ben Purvis, the infrared cameras can detect heat signatures up to 300 meters (almost 1000 feet) away. The range  of the cameras is also going to be used in the 1400GTR’s collision avoidance technology, which is basically an (ultra) early warning system that alerts drivers of possible obstacles up ahead. Purvis adds that the warning may come in the form of a Bluetooth alarm that’s also mounted on the rider’s helmet.

We don’t have pics of the HUD or the high-tech helmet, so for now we can still hope that maybe, just maybe, the headgear will look like Shaider’s. or the one from Daft Punk. No not that one. The other helmet. The cooler one.

Capcom today confirmed that Dead Rising 2 is coming to not only the Xbox 360, but to the PS3 and PC too. Not too much else is known yet, but any game that involves bashing zombies over the head with a roulette wheel is fine by me.

The Uno is a self-balancing motorcycle that uses a pair of gyroscopes to constantly keep its rider upright.

Designed by 18-year old inventor Ben J. Poss Gulak (and built with the help of a team of bike builders and engineers), the 120-pound motorcycle is so easy to ride, its only control is a single on-off switch. To ride forward, lean forward, to reverse, simply lean back. The degree to which you lean increases or decreases your velocity. By using a pair of wheels, the bike can also make turns based on your side-to-side movements.

The one-of-a-kind motorcycle was recently demonstrated at the 2008 National Motorcycle Show in Toronto, Canada. Its current whereabouts are unknown, but I’m pretty sure you’ll recognize it if you see it coming down the road.

Alas, it’ll never get out of the starting gate. This heavily modded, liquid-cooled PC is strictly for use while parked (unless you want to strap a monitor to your lap while riding, and connect a really long extension cord). While it may not have serious racing horsepower, I’m sure it’s got plenty of processing speed.

Perhaps inspired by last year’s SLI-Machine wheel PC, The computer cycle was built by Russian casemodder Dennis Ilyin (a.k.a. “Xooler”) in a recent NVIDIA-sponsored case building contest. If you can believe it, Dennis only won the second place prize. I personally think he was robbed, but you be the judge.

In addition to announcing this major milestone, Bizarre also released the (massive) final list of vehicles in the game, and it doesn’t disappoint.

I can’t wait to get my hands on some of these vehicles and put them through their paces (especially in the rain and snow). Expect the game to hit stores (and millions of Xbox 360s) on October 2th in the U.S., and on October 12th in Europe.

Now we already know the game is going to feature some amazing weather effects that actually affect your driving, but the addition of some two-wheeled vehicles could really shake things up. I’d imagine that if motorcycles do make their way into the game, die-hard fans of this acclaimed auto racing franchise might freak out about how it’ll change the game.

Given developer Bizarre Creations track record, I don’t think we need to be concerned. It’s been a really long time they made a bad game (anyone remember Fur Fighters?)
