Looking for a way to get high-def digital content on your TV? You might want to check out this nifty media player box that can play full HD videos directly from your SD or USB flash memory.

There’s support for video files in MP4, MKV, MOV, MPEG, MPG, VOB, AVI, DIVX, XVID and RMVB formats, as well as audio files in MP3, AAC or WMA formats too. Wherever would you find videos to play on this thing?

In addition to the HDMI digital multimedia output, there’s component video with coax, optical and plain old stereo analog outputs. The player supports HDMI 1.3, and outputs video in either 720p or 1080p resolutions. Also in the box is an infrared remote for you to easily navigate through your digital media from the other side of the room.

Don’t you find it odd that on one hand, our LCD and Plasma TV screens can never be big enough, but on the other hand, gadgets are getting smaller screens all the time.

This new pair of video players are about the size of a credit card, and offer up video on teeny tiny screens. The $99.99 players come in either a black (Neon M3) version with heat-sensitive backlit buttons and a 2.4-inch screen, and a stainless (ICE) model with a slightly larger 2.8-inch screen, but none of the schmancy button tech. In addition to video playback, each one has an FM tuner, photo viewer and a “game” mode.

They can play videos for 3 to 4 hours on a charge, while audio only mode will give you 6 to 8 hours. There’s 2GB of memory on board each model, but they’re expandable using T-Flash/MicroSD memory cards.

Both players are now available from ThinkGeek for $99.99 each.

Images and specs have started to surface for TiVo’s latest DVR, bringing high definition recording, along with TiVo’s great user interface down to a reasonable price.

The new model, currently known as the Series 3 “Lite” (model #TCD652160) will retail for about $299, and packs in a pretty nice feature list for the price. It’s got dual MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 decoders, so it should be able to handle any signal you throw at it. Storage is limited to a 160GB hard drive, but that still should record around 180 hours of SD, or 20 hours of HD programming if I’m doing my math right.

With the removal of the schmancy OLED screen and no THX certification, the new model doesn’t offer some of the bells and whistles of the original Series 3. However, for $299, I think they’ll sell like hot cakes. Now all they need to do is get these to work with DirecTV and I’ll be happy.
