Designed by Benedetto Papi, the Pac-in-time watch seems like the perfect timepiece for Pac-Man fans. It tells time using a Pac-Man in place of the hour and minute hands. From what I can tell, two yellow discs (or black pie wedges) would rotate to form Pac-Man’s mouth, opening and closing depending on the time of day.

It’s still just a concept for now, but I’m hoping that Namco sees the idea and decides to produce them. The only thing I’d add would be some power pills and cherries which pop up from time to time.

This ginormous Pac-Man game was created by Soap Creative to show of the HTML5 capabilities of Internet Explorer 9. The massive map is actually made up of literally thousands (currently over 4000 to be exact) of interconnected Pac-Man mazes. So instead of looping back to itself when you exit a maze, you end up in another one. I’m pretty sure you could spend years trying to get through them all, what with the countless power pills and ghosts to consume. The cool thing is that the mazes are all unique, and you won’t always be able to use the standard arcade strategy to defeat them all.

Another cool feature is the global stats board. The game tracks the total number of dots eaten (at this point over 51 million), lives lost (over 249k), ghosts eaten (over 550k), as well as the number of mazes played and created. Yes, you read right – you can create your own mazes and contribute them to the world map, so the game will keep growing. Each maze maintains its own stats and bookmark-able URL too. Check out my very own Technabob map, complete with hairpin turns and precarious power pill placements (yes, I fixed that impossible-to-reach power pill #7 after I grabbed this screenshot):

Also, you don’t have to play it in Internet Explorer 9 if you don’t want. I managed to play just fine in Firefox 4, Chrome 10 and Safari 5 too. Just don’t tell Microsoft I said so. So what are you waiting for? Check out The World’s Biggest Pac-Man now.

Created for what seems like the never-ending 30th anniversary of everyone’s favorite dot-gobbling arcade game (except for Ms. Pac-Man), these cookie cutters come in a set of four, including Pinky, Inky, Clyde, and Pac-Man himself.

One can only assume that Blinky has already turned blue and been eaten. You’ll be able to gobble up the full set for yourself over very soon at SUCK UK for £$12 (appx. $19 USD).

While I’m not sure that the Atari 2600 ever had graphics this good, I still like the idea of the edible 2600 joystick on the side.

Not only does the cake perfectly capture the spirit of the original arcade game, it’s got at least a little bit of tasty buttercream icing and white chocolate power pellets to offset the smooth, but bland fondant that many highly decorated cakes end up being made from.

Like many Pac-Man related things this year, the site was created in celebration of the little yellow puck’s 30th anniversary on this here planet.

The site requires Firefox 3, Google Chrome, IE 7 or Safari 5 to run, and you can even have Pac-Man gobble up any other website, with a simple Pac-Man bookmarklet (drag to your toolbar.)

The game is called Pac-Man Kart Rally for Mobile and it supports many major mobile phone platforms including Java, BREW, RIM, and Windows Mobile devices. An Android version of the game will land in early 2011. Namco makes no mention of the iPhone in the press release for the game, but I would be shocked it the game doesn’t come to the iPhone.

The game will come in 2D and 3D versions with ten characters from Namco games of yore. Characters include Pac-Man himself, Taizo Hori from Dig Dug, the Prince from Katamari Damacy, Susumu Hori from Mr. Driller and the Fighter from Galaga. There are several more characters as well. Each of the characters has different characteristics that will give them different abilities and affect the way the kart moves. The racing game has 12 tracks and five different game modes.

Created by Russell Luzinski a couple of Halloweens back, the wearable Pac-Man system is actually based on a laptop, loaded into a wooden frame, with a customized Gravis Gamepad Pro, modded with a wooden ball on the joystick.

The best part? Russell has been kind enough to share the build details over on Make: Projects, so you too can be wearing one of these for the upcoming Halloween season. Or just build one and wear it to work any old day.

These Pac-Man ghost key covers are perfect for sorting out which key is which on your keychain. Now all I have to remember is that Blinky=front door, Pinky=back door, Inky=desk drawer and Clyde=car. Or was Pinky the office door, and Clyde the mailbox? Oh well, at least they look cool.

I first found these over at Japan’s Strapya, and since I could read a single word on the site without Google Translate, I thought there was no way to get them outside of Japan. Thankfully, their sister site Strapya-World sells them too, for about $4 a piece. Currently, they’re sold out of all colors except Pinky, which of course defeats the whole purpose. Hopefully, they’ll get more soon.

My Japanese isn’t very good, but it looks like you’ll be able to get a pair of these glasses, along with a set of collectible Pac-Man wine coasters for about ¥5250 (appx. $50 USD). Here’s a bit of machine translation which should help you with your purchase decision:

This whimsical crocheted scarf by Michigami Creations is based on the classic arcade shooter, Galaga – which just so happens to be one of my favorite games of all time. As a matter of fact, I still occasionally boot up MAME on my Dingoo (boy, does that sounds weird) to play a late-night round of the old boy.

Unfortunately for you guys, I already bought this one (for just $20 bucks), so you’ll have to hope you can convince Miss Michigami to make you another one. You could always pick up her Pac-Man, Zelda Triforce or Chocobo or Weighted Companion Cube scarves before they get snatched up.

Once you start looking at these up close, you start to realize how complex they really are–these cake balls are not only candy-coated, but there’s more candy attached, using candy glue to hold everything in place! That’s not frosting on the outside, see; the key to this project is the use of a lot of candy melts. That’s what makes the M&Ms stick to the outside–the best part of this project.

Well, let’s be honest – the best part is probably eating it. But visually, it’s those little nubby M&Ms, just waiting to have all sorts of things stuck to ‘em, like toys, sushi, lily pads, and a cow or two.

Made exclusively for ClubNAMCO, the Pac-Man Pellet Time watch tells time with ghosts and power pills. The face features all the Pac-Man gang, along with an invisible second hand with Pac-Man gobbling up dots, cherries and a blue ghost as he circles the outside of the dial.

Only 500 of these watches are being made, and each watch is individually marked with a serial number. You can get one over at clubNAMCO for $129.99 (USD). Be sure to grab the bundle version that includes a free copy of Pac-Man for your PC.

The latest (fifth) revision to the system could be the best design yet, inspired by retro arcade cabinets, complete with a mock coin slot that lights up, and arcade-style buttons and joystick. The new version also bests all prior versions by including 12 classic arcade games inside. In addition to Pac-Man, the all-in-one console includes arcade versions of Bosconian, Xevious, Galaxian, Galaga, New Rally-X, Pac-Man Plus, Super Pac-Man, Pac & Pal, Mappy, Pole Position, and my all time fave DigDug.

While the best price I was able to find over on Amazon was $48 (USD), you should be able to find one for a bit less over on eBay if you dig under the appropriate rocks.

Actually, this wasn’t the main wedding cake, but actually a groom’s cake that blogger The Domestic Scientist recently made for a friend’s wedding. And while the cake is fully edible (black icing, gumpaste ghosts and all) you might not want to try and eat the Pac-Couple – as they’re crafted from Super Sculpey. (Unless you’re into eating modeling clay.)

Created in celebration of Pac-Man’s impending 30th birthday (boy, I feel old), these limited-edition series of Zippo lighters from Banpresto includes shiny, butane-filled versions of Pac-Man, Galaxian, Xevious and Dig Dug. Each one features the pixelated likenesses of the classic 8-bit games – although I have to say I like the tiny little tactile Galaxians the best. Although I would argue that Galaga was the true classic. And while I don’t smoke, I’ll buy just about anything with Dig Dug on it, so I’m sold.

They sell for ¥8400 (appx. $93 USD) each, so I guess I’ll have to skip meals this week so I can afford one. For now, I’ve only found these in Japan, but hopefully somebody will export these for all to enjoy. Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.

I first eyed Hallmark’s keepsake Pac-Man holiday ornament back in December 2008, and grabbed one for my tree then. Now it turns out that they’re starting a collectible arcade machine series, with the recent announcement of a Galaga ornament for 2009. Shweet!

Not only do these incredibly detailed mini arcade cabinet ornaments look great hanging from any tree, they actually light up and play the original game theme music when you press a tiny little 1-player start button on the front panel.

You can still find a handful of the Pac-Man ornaments over on Amazon, and the you can get the Galaga on your holiday wish list over at Hallmark so you can grab one when it’s released this October. I’m hoping that 2010 brings Dig-Dug.

In addition to tasty round power pellets, there’s sour blue raspberry blue ghosts, and tart cherry Blinky ghosts, which I imagine turn into raspberry blue ghosts after you eat a couple of power pills. But I could be wrong on that. And while I’m thinking about it, have you ever seen an actual blue raspberry? And no, that Icee that turned your tongue all shades of ultramarine doesn’t count.

I think I know what I’m gonna keep in my desk drawer for between-meal snacks from now on. Pac-Man candies are available from FredFlare for $12 for the set of three tins.

This quirky homebrew variant on Pac-Man from IMWILL envisions a world where nothing is bolted down, including the interior walls of the maze. Once the gameplay kicks in, gravity switches off, and Inky, Blinky, Pinky, Clyde, the power pills and dots all get to floating around the darkness of space.

You won’t be able to get through this game by memorizing patterns while playing this version. Heck, you’ll be lucky to survive a 30 seconds without a floating ghost smashing right into you. Your only hope is to gobble up a power pill, which turns on gravity for a few seconds, sucking every object in the direction of the red gravity arrow – but the ghosts never turn blue for you to chomp on. Good luck with all that.

The whole thing sort of reminds me of that time Homer Simpson let that bag of potato chips loose in the space capsule and had to eat them all.
