Wearing your tablet around your neck might seem a bit silly, but I can see it being useful in a few different situations. Perhaps if you work in the field, a warehouse or in a hospital, it would be handy to have your tablet right there in front of you. But I have to say that while it’s useful, the GoPad tablet cradle looks really geeky. Not that carrying around an iPad wherever you go isn’t already.

The GoPad was made to allow you to use your tablet like a sort of digital clipboard. The strap goes around your neck and the articulated stand allows you to place your tablet into the optimal position to get stuff done. It also works as a stand for your tablet when you’re not wearing it, and can hang it over your shoulder like a laptop bag, too.

The GoPad sells for $89(USD) from their website. It’s available in versions for the iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy, RIM PlayBook, Samsung Galaxy, Kindle Fire, and Motorola Xoom. For some reason, I can also see dads and grandpas using this and being quite happy about it.

The Zombie Brains Friendship Necklace Set signifies so much more than your friendship with a fellow flesh-eater. It shows that you would be willing to give half of your brain to another zombie and take half of theirs in return. Not that it really matters, anyway – you’re both knuckleheads who don’t have girlfriends to share your Zombie Brains Friendship Necklace Set with. It is only socially acceptable for girls to have friendship necklaces with other girls – guys usually don’t do that kind of thing. Guys usually don’t have necklaces that spell B-R-A-I-N-S, though, so we might be able to make an exception.

Also, to the rule that you can’t wear masks at work, you can wear the LED Anti-Aging Mask. We’re only making an exception because someone tripped on your face sag a couple of days ago, and now the company is facing lawsuits. THEY TRIPPED ON YOUR FACE SAG. How does that even happen?! But I digress.

The Zombie Brains Friendship Necklace Set is from ThinkGeek, and is $30. don’t think of it as $30, think of it as buying two $15 necklaces. Because that’s exactly what you’re doing! This has been a journey into Derp land, please step off of the ride and keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle. *Revs up bone saw* I see only one way that I am going to be able to leave and follow the directions. Good thing I’m a zombie, or this would hurt like a bone saw! Because it is a bone saw! “Where did you even get one of those?” The internet.

If you’d like to throw your money at someone, please visit your local school at Penny the Freshmen day. If you would like to throw money at the Zombie Brains Friendship Necklace Set, go ahead and pogo jump yourself all the way over to ThinkGeek.

I sure miss Mystery Science Theater 3000. My fondest memories of the show are way back in the Joel Hodgson era, but these days, just seeing a picture of Crow, Tom Servo or Gypsy makes me giddy. Now I only wish that I could pull off this MST3K pendant to show my love for the classic sci-fi comedy show.

Just like the setup of the show – where Joel (or Mike) sat with the robots and made fun of bad “B” movies, this handmade pendant makes your favorite photo the subject of their humorous jabs.

The MST3K locket is made by Laura of PicaPicaPress, and it’s the perfect place to house a picture of a loved one with a good sense of humor. After all, they’re going to be perpetually belittled within an inch of their lived by this outer-space peanut gallery. I suppose you could wimp out and put some sci-fi movie still in there. Pretty much any scene from the re-released Star Wars Blu-ray collection should do the trick – especially from Episode I. Robot Monster always works wonders.

Girls, if you consider yourself among the remaining MSTies out there, head on over to Etsy, where you can grab up this locket for $60 (USD). Be sure to wear it the next time you find yourself trapped on the Satellite of Love.

Check out the iNecklace, which is actually a piece of jewelry that you could replicate if you really want to, but you can also buy one if you’d rather not make one yourself. The unique part of this piece is that it pulsates, kind of like what the LEDs on a Mac do.

It’s made out of CNC-machined aluminum with an LED inside which pulsates for up to 72 hours at a time. Each of the necklaces contains a tiny circuit board to make it work. The pendant is silver. It’s the perfect geek gift for yourself or your significant other.

Since it’s open-source, you can make it yourself. Through Adafruit, you can access all of the files necessary to duplicate it. Or you could simply buy a completed iNecklace for $75(USD) from Gizmine.

Each icon is laser-cut from white acrylic, with the tiny instructional images burned out of them and then layered onto a piece of black backing acrylic. It’s made by LicketyCut, and can be ordered in either this large five-image version ($45 USD), or in single image Portal test icon pendants ($12). Each image measures appx. 1″ square.

And if that’s not enough, cake will be served just as soon as you’re done testing.

As is evidenced by a couple of our most recent posts, women and girls can be into electronics just as much as dudes. So why not wear your inner geekette around your neck with one of these cool circuit board necklaces. They’re made by the guys at Brooklyn’s Design Glut, and look just like the metal traces from a circuit board.

But instead of just cheaping out and cutting up some old circuits like we often see over on Etsy, these guys make their jewelry from mirror-polished stainless steel, then hung them each from a 16″ chain. The pendants themselves measure 2″ x 1.5″ and are available in either silver or gold finishes, but not in copper – which would be even more appropriate for a circuit board. Still, they’re quite good looking, IMHO.

If you’re looking for something a little more girly (or want you’re a guy and want to get your girlfriend something sweet and geeky), there’s always the version shaped like a little 1″x1″ heart, too.

I wonder if there’s a schematic available for the parts that could go into these things. I suppose if you really wanted to, you could solder some components in, but I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you won’t end up with a functional circuit. I guess you can always find out for yourself. Each of these circuit board necklaces sells for $60 (USD) over at the Design Glut shop over on Supermarket.

Created by Israeli artist Ran (aka milkool), these pendants offer up chunky, pixely cursors hanging from a black metal ball-chain. They’re made from 2 layers of colored acrylic, stacked together, so they have some nice dimension too. Plus, at just $14 (USD) each, they won’t cost you much.

Currently, they’re available in either an arrow pointer or pointing hand designs, both perfect for getting people to look you in the eyes.

Of course, if you’re the type of person who makes others wait around for them, maybe you could convince Ran to make you an hourglass or a beachball version instead.

You can find these and other fun nerdy-chic pendants and accessories over at milkool’s Etsy shop.

The world is tragically short on Animal Crossing crafts. Sure, occasionally someone turns up with a KK Slider plush or a handmade knick-knack, but the adorable world of Animal Crossing should be everywhere. It should be up there with Katamari Damacy and Loco Roco–at least, visually–but for the most part, Animal Crossing is MIA from the geek craft scene… which is why we have to cherish these things when they do finally turn up.

Look at those eyes! That cheery face! You’d never know she spends half the day pulling weeds and digging holes. This girl spends her days lounging around under the trees and fishing, clearly, with a sideline in fashion design. You’ve got to be at least a little fierce to pull off those red shoes.

This little Animal Crossing pendant is only $9 at Etsy, and the LoveYourSupplies shop folk will even customize if you want. Not a bad idea for a game that is all about you (and, uh, also chores).

Brando, producer of gadgets that are mostly devoid of sense, is at it again with their latest flash drive, the “jewel bug necklace flash drive.”

Look at all the shiny plastic. Brando is kind enough to include a chain so that you can make a necklace with the bug as its pendant, although why anyone would do so is beyond me.

On second thought, it’s not half bad. But still, why a cockroach? Nevermind. If there’s one thing I can say about Brando, it’s that they’re consistent. Consistently weird.

Okay, ladies, if you’re looking to hide your data in the form of a giant, shiny pendant (that no one would ever steal, right? right?), then you’re going to want to check this out. After all, it’s shiny, and a necklace, and did I mention it’s shiny?

Okay, I mock, but it’s actually not unattractive as necklaces go, and geek girls with a sense of feminine style certainly can’t find much to mock in the 8GB of space available in this wearable drive. Also? Color choices! The necklace is available in black or red if you happen to need more color in your life (along with portable storage).

You might be wondering just where, exactly, this pendant plugs in. Check it out–hidden connections. Nice touch!

The necklaces are available for $37 a piece from Hong Kong retailer Brando. Now if only there was a package deal for all three….

Who says geek fashion accessories are only for guys? These necklaces are perfect for the gamer girl in your life.

Created by San Antonio’s NBsCloset, each one of these tech-inspired pendants is custom cut and etched from fiber boards using a (frickin’) laser beam.

It seems that NB has a particular affinity towards Nintendo controllers, what with mini necklace versions of the Wii-Mote, the NES Zapper light gun, and the classic (but much maligned) Power Glove controller.

Of course, Nintendo controllers aren’t the only thing you can wear around your neck. If you’re ready to go back to the ’70s, try on this mini Speak & Spell (weird synthesized voice not included).

And if you’re more musically-inclined, how about a classic Casio SK-1 sampling synthesizer.

Or snap some pics with a Polaroid instant camera…

Each iconic necklace measures about 2.25″ at the widest point, and hangs from an 18-inch ball chain. Head on over to NBsCloset Etsy shop to order yours today. (Be sure to check out NB’s wife’s Etsy shop for additional designs)

The display ones are all in the letter B, but she’ll do some alternate letters in black or gray if she has them. Now to see if she has a K lying around… or even better, ctrl. Why? I don’t know, it just seems kind of cool.

Look at this playful shrinky plastic Sonic necklace from Etsy seller geekchicboutique. It’s very cool, but just because I have been charmed and distracted by it doesn’t mean I’ve forsaken my madcap Tetris obsession.

I mean, even though the elusive gold rings Sonic loves to collect have been thoughtfully included here doesn’t mean I’ve lost my focus. Although I think I can hear the happy chimes of jumping and collecting them right now… good times.

Is your obsession diluted when you have two things to obsess about? Does it count as an obsessions if it’s more than one thing? Discuss amongst yourselves.

Purchase this piece and see other fun things at the geekchicboutique shop.

On one side, this contemporary necklace features a feminine cherry blossom design, but flip it over and it shows off your true gamer spirit with the image of a classic Nintendo NES controller.

Michigan artist Sarah Lynne handcrafts her necklaces and other jewelry designs using aluminum, wire, paper and paint, then coats them with a highly polished resin glaze that takes three days to complete.
