Naked & Famous Scented Jeans: Don’t Wash ‘Em, Just Scratch ‘Em

There are many reasons why people don’t wash their jeans on a daily basis. For one, it’s wasteful, because you can get a lot of wears out of them before they start to smell. (In fact, up to three months without washing is still okay.) Aside from that, too much washes will make them look tattered and torn even before they’re barely a year old.

Now here’s another reason for you: Because they smell like raspberries.

I’m not talking about jeans from any random brand out there, but these Weird Guy Scratch n’ Sniff Raspberry Scented ones from Naked & Famous. This Canadian brand boasts of using only raw denim manufactured at a traditional mill in Japan, so you can be assured of quality.

For the Weird Guy jeans (I think the name’s right on the money for this pair), raspberry perfume was coated all over the denim and then baked into them.

The perfume contains millions upon millions of tiny micro-scent capsules that break when you scratch on the surface of the jeans, releasing the yummy raspberry fragrance. Naked & Famous claims that the scent can last up to five washes. And if you wash your jeans just once every three months… just think of all the water and detergent you’ll save!

The jeans retail for €150 (~$165 USD) and are available for purchase online (caution: loud music at this link) in case you want your posterior to smell like raspberries.

Well, now you can show everyone who thought that the iPad 2 wasn’t pocketable that yes, it can fit in your pants. However it does look quite uncomfortable though. Would you like to carry your iPad 2 around this way?

The Tactical Pants Blog has found three pairs of pants that have pockets large enough to hold your iPad or iPad 2. Yep, now you can look all swanky by carrying around your iPad in great big old pocket, ensuring that it’s always close by.

The best pants to carry your iPad are the Warrior Wear Pants by Blackhawk, which were recently discontinued. Right after came the Kitacnica Tactical Pants that cost $160 but didn’t feel all that secure. Having your iPad in the pocket of your pants might not be the best idea, since these pockets offer no security, meaning that your iPad 2 could be easily stolen by someone with nimble fingers. You also probably won’t want to sit down.

I was considering filing this under ‘Cute or Stupid?’, but my common sense prevailed. Designed (?) by Erik De Nijs, this pair of pants called “Beauty and the Geek” has no ounce of cuteness or any redeeming factor whatsoever.

I don’t know about you, but I certainly am not cool with poking my crotch every now and then in order to type. It’s too impractical for geeks, and not even the blind would call this thing beautiful.

Those iconic Space Invaders seem to be turning up everywhere these days. When I say everywhere, I mean everywhere — even in your underwear.

Yep, Ted Baker is making these invader-inspired drawers, perfect for keeping your junk in check.

They’re available from Asos.com for £18 (about $35 USD – that’s some pricey underwear!) I guess we now know the right answer to the “boxers or briefs?” debate.
