Of course, I would oblige, since it would be rude not to. But sometimes, I just wish I could just wind them up and send them off their merry way across the table so I can enjoy my food in peace. And that’s exactly what you can do with these Salt & Pepper Bots.

The new Pepper Mouth concept gadget is one of the dumbest I have seen though. It assumes we want to stop calling the idiots we talk to on IM or in chat session’s names and cursing at them. Isn’t that one of the best things about forums and chat rooms after all? You can call an asshole an asshole and not worry that you will get maimed in the process.

If you have the online version of Tourette Syndrome and just can’t control your foul language outbursts, this little USB thingy would stink you out as punishment. The first time it senses a bad word you get the red stop hand glowing.

The second time it emits a stench of some sort. Being that it’s called Pepper Mouth, it’s supposed smell like a spicy pepper. That won’t stop some folks from cursing; peppers may remind them of home cooking or something (or getting arrested). The smell lingers too, sort of like farts after a day of beer drinking. Sounds great.

Shown here are Flickr user thinkchildthink’s Tetris-inspired pepper grinder, salt shaker, and… uh, that extra piece. Actually, the extra bit makes the set; you can set them all together in the middle of the counter or table and watch people look around in confusion for the salt.

The wooden set was a project for an industrial design class. Kinda makes me want to go sign up for one, except I would probably cut my thumb off or something.

The guys over at Antrepo Design Industry created these prototype battery-sized Salt & Pepper Cells out of stainless steel and glass. You can even tell how much salt and pepper you have remaining thanks to a see through “power indicator” window.

As Antrepo is still looking for a manufacturer for these, there’s no word on when and where you’ll be able to buy these yet, but you can check for the latest over at the Antrepo Design website. I’d like some 9-volts filled with sugar to go with these.

Instead of using a spray can filled with aerosol propellant, the gun uses compressed nitrogen to fire a nasty blast of pelletized PAVA pepper powder at attackers from up to 40 feet away. And just in case you have lousy aim, it’s got a laser sight to make sure you don’t miss. It can even rapid-fire up to 5 shots to take out multiple assailants.

Imagine having the boss over for dinner, asking if he’d like some pepper on his salad, then whipping out one of these little droids. You’ll surely get that promotion you’ve been clamoring for.

Just twist R2′s head, and out comes fresh-ground pepper. The mills come in both R2-D2 (white/blue) and RD-Q5 (black) versions, although I wish that the white one was salt, and the black one was pepper. All I need now is a C-3PO oil and vinegar dispenser and I’ll be good to go.
